OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I would like to see a push towards stronger adoption opportunities. My mother's family is all adopted, and I would like to see this trend continue

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Neutral

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Rape, Issues with safety for the mother and child, Incest

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Strongly Disagree

Failed trade policies and Economic independence are bigger factors between the wealthy and working class. My dad worked in a factory job that no longer exists because our trade policies are not fair, and we depend on other countries for things we can make here at home.

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Agree

A downward scaled approach to spending cuts is needed right now.

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

1. Lower corporate tax rates 2. Increase personal write offs like property taxes limits 3. Allow for more donation spending to 501c3 efforts that have bigger impacts than government funded ones 4. School choice vouchers/tax credits for parental choice

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

The nation was founded on religious persecution and religious liberty should be held to the highest standard

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Neutral

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

They should be separate

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

none

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

C

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Neutral

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

The United States should continue to pursue extremist organizations that pose a threat to American safety. In addition to that, we should keep working with the Islamic leaders to locate these groups as they have been affected by their extremism as much as we have

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

We have sent resources to Europe to secure an allies border, but refuse to secure our own

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

All people should be eligible to migrate to the U.S. We should increase border security while streamlining the cost and processes for legal immigration.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Neutral

I do believe that people should not be discriminated based on any factors.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

There has never been more of a time in history where people from different backgrounds are given chances to earn degrees, careers and small business opportunities. One most only give the effort required to earn a quality living and not make choices that would compromise that effort.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I have a strong faith in Jesus Christ. I am a cancer survivor and it carried me through that time. I value faith, family and fellowship. Our home believes that a winner never quits and a quitter never wins.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

You need an ID for most everything else. Not providing one to vote can only fuel suspicions of voter fraud

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Voter ID Requirement. Cleaning voter rolls. Make election day, election day again. No post-election mail in ballots, if you have early voting periods why do you need post voting periods

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I don't believe it is a security threat in America. I believe Prejudice exists, but it is not a domestic security threat as we have major cities all reporting all time high crime waves. We have a prosecution issue right now that disguises racism as lack of accountability.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Agree

We have not properly developed sustainable energy sources as reliable as oil and natural gas. Until that happens, we must continue our production of oil and natural gas to remain independent energy wise.

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Lean Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

https://mchenrycountyblog.com/2022/01/13/cruz011222/

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I believe that the people of IL 6th deserve to have safe neighborhoods, good schools where kids can learn life skills (not political agendas). Our voters deserve good paying careers and jobs that have been shipped away by a political class that has forgotten them in their pursuit of wealth. I will put our people's best interest ahead of any agenda, including my own. This is how we will come together to create the strongest house district in the nation. ? Rob Cruz, Candidate IL-6

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

Police officers are putting themselves at risk to serve the residents. Their jobs require force at times and that has saved lives

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

This will embolden criminal behavior even further than it already is right now

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Proper gun training and safety measures should be implemented when owning a firearm.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree
