OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Agree

These drugs require a physician's care to be safe as there can be severe adverse outcomes if they are not administered properly. If we truly care about women's health we should require the administering of these drugs under a physician's care.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Rape, incest or if the life of the mother is at risk.

Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?

No. I believe that the Supreme Court properly determined that this issue, since it is not addressed directly in the Constitution, belongs at the state level.

ECONOMY

What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?

We should lower taxes and reassess our tax structure from the view that it is the earner's money and we need to prioritize the needs of the public to decide what each person's contribution should be. Current law assumes it's the Government money.

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Agree

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The separation of church and state means that there should be no official religion like many countries have. Our country should allow the free practice of all religions of its citizens without overly benefiting or inhibiting any one.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. I will admit I have evolved on this subject since becoming self-employed. I believe that having options outside of private insurance can help small businesses and people involved in the gig economy. I also believe that it will allow people to take more risks and get involved in, say, a start up vs. a corporate job because access to healthcare won't drive their decision

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

The US relationship with Israel is absolutely important. Not only is the country our most reliable ally in the Middle East region, but is is also one of the most open and inclusive democracies in the world. The country's interests are largely aligned with our own and as we look at our allies around the world, Israel is one of the few that shoulders its responsiblity for its own defense and is a net contribution to the overall security posture of the U.S. in the world.

What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?

I believe that the decline is because of a crisis of leadership that begins with the commander-in-chief. Rather than focus on the security needs of the U.S., the military seems inordinately focused on issues such as DEI, climate change, transgenderism and other radical leftist issues that have nothing to do with improving the security of our nation. Those are not causes for which idealistic and patriotic young men are willing to put their lives on the line to defend. Hence the crisis.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

U.S. citizenship for those born outside of the country is a privilege, not a right. Immigration should be limited to those that want to come because they believe they have a skill, education or experience that will help our country become better. In the words of Kennedy, they should ask what they can do for our country, not what our country can do for them.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Agree

VALUES

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Agree

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a practicing Roman Catholic and support the teachings of the Church in my private life. I understand that in a democracy we need to win the "hearts and minds" of the electorate to build the type of society that we would like to see flourish.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Disagree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Neutral

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Coming from western Pennsylvania, I believe that natural gas has the capability to be the most secure, reliable and affordable source of energy in the U.S. and that we should fully develop the potential of this region.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Lean Conservative

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

Provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our posterity. In short, the general purpose of government is the improve the well-being of its citizens. All decisions should be viewed through that prism.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.

Strongly Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None. However, crimes that are committed using a gun should be dealt with on the most severe terms possible.
