QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Abortion should never be allowed.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Abortion constitutes the murder of a living, yet-to-be-born child; unborn children deserve equal protection under the law.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
Just as we should determine who lives and dies as relates to unborn children; we should not make that determination for those born or 'living'.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
The annual property tax appraisal system should be abolished. Once you purchase your home, your appraised value should be locked in. As a result, the government will be held accountable to spend its budget judiciously and where the most benefit is gained.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
School districts are among the most wasteful of taxpayer dollars. In order to eliminate waste, we need forensic audits of the largest school districts in Texas. We need to better utilize taxpayer funds to promote the fundamentals of education in areas such as math, science and reading, as opposed to social education. I would also like to see an elimination of the STAAR test, which costs roughly $90 million annually. I would also like to see certain state agencies eliminated or their budgets drastically reduced.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Never.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
None.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
The first step is to secure the border.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
The Texas National Guard is a state asset until federalized. We should start deploying the Texas National Guard on 6-month rotations to help secure the border. In addition, Texas should continue using state assets to build a reinforced barrier with, or without the federal government's assistance.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Primarily we must reestablish the rule of law. That means continuing to allow the government to fulfill deportation orders and ending the normalization of illegal immigration with sanctuary policies. There should be no amnesty for people who come into our country illegally or overstay their visas knowingly. I would redirect our focus on legal immigration, especially towards high-skilled immigrants. Immigration policy should be modeled with America First economic impact in mind. The United States is the most welcoming country when it comes to newcomers. The legal immigrants that came here the right way adhered to the law and so should everyone else.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Everyone deserves respect, including transgender individuals but current laws against discrimination are sufficient. We do not need anti-discrimination laws to cater to any particular group of people.
iVoterGuide Notes:
False and potentially libelous information redacted.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Critical Race Theory teaches victimhood, and we need our youth to learn resilience and community.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian who believes we were redeemed by God's grace. As such, I believe in the sanctity of life, the sanctity of marriage and the family, and strong local communities as the foundation of society.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
No person should be allowed to vote without a current government ID. Allowing someone to vote without an ID undermines the foundation of American society.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Voter registrations should expire, just like government ID cards. That way, voter rolls' accuracy is consistently maintained. I also think that the only form of ID that should be accepted to vote is a current state ID.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No. The divisive and degenerative rhetoric around racism today, championed by many American media outlets, threatens our communities and our country in a very real way.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
Neither. Look, we wouldn't have cars that go 60 miles per gallon without some environmental laws. It's important to protect our environment but we also need to protect our economy. It's about finding a balance.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The government's limited role is to provide essential services and help with infrastructure.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
N/A
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
For 20 years, the Republican Party has maintained control of the Texas House of Representatives, and yet we have very few conservative legislative accomplishments over that period of time. Every year, our legislators find a way to disappoint us, and at the same time, find a way to keep getting reelected. I am running, not as an opportunist, but as an activist and as a disappointed constituent. That's why I was the first to declare my candidacy back in July. Unlike the incumbent, I will support every Republican Party of Texas legislative priority. I support the complete abolition of abortion, even if in defiance of the courts, banning child gender modification and major election reform. I also have an intense passion for juvenile justice reform and education reform. I also am very concerned about the border, property taxes and overall taxpayer funded wastefulness across the state. It's time that we hold our leaders accountable.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Current laws are adequate.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
That's a stupid idea. We must promote personal responsibility.
