QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

I believe elective abortion should be a decision made between a woman, her doctor, and her faith. I support the right to choose, especially in cases involving the health of the mother, rape, incest, or other personal circumstances that impact a woman’s life and well-being. Every situation is different, and I trust women to make the best decisions for themselves and their families. We must continue to ensure access to safe, legal reproductive health care.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

All medical procedures, including medication-based abortions, should meet clear safety standards but those standards must be grounded in science, not politics. Patients deserve access to safe, effective care, and that includes the option of medication abortion under the guidance of qualified healthcare professionals. While I support collecting data to improve health outcomes, it’s important we do so in a way that protects patient privacy and doesn’t create unnecessary barriers to care.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Organizations like Planned Parenthood play a vital role in providing accessible health care, especially for underserved communities. The reality is that the majority of their services from cancer screenings to STI testing, prenatal care, and family planning are not abortion-related. Denying public funding for these critical services would hurt the people who rely on them most, particularly low-income families, women, and young people.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Agree

End-of-life decisions are deeply personal and often incredibly difficult. I believe we must approach this issue with compassion, care, and respect for individual dignity. Aid in dying laws when accompanied by strict safeguards and ethical oversight are meant to give terminally ill patients control over their own final moments. While I recognize the moral and religious concerns many have, I also believe in the importance of protecting personal choice, especially in cases of unbearable suffering.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Freedom of religion is a foundational right, and I believe government should never interfere with worship unless there is a clear and compelling public safety concern. In rare cases — such as during a public health emergency or natural disaster — temporary restrictions may be necessary to protect lives, just like with any other gathering place. But even then, the goal must be to preserve both safety and constitutional freedoms.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Agree

I believe in protecting both civil rights and religious freedom — but when it comes to public businesses, everyone should be treated equally under the law. If you open your doors to the public, you have a responsibility not to discriminate. No one should be denied service because of who they are, who they love, or what they believe. At the same time, I respect the importance of religious conviction, and I believe we can find ways to honor faith while also upholding fairness and dignity.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

I recognize that the Chinese Communist Party presents serious challenges in areas like military strength, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and global economic influence. It’s critical that the United States remains vigilant in protecting our national security and economic interests. At the same time, I believe in pursuing diplomacy and international cooperation to address these issues responsibly. Our approach must be balanced.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes, the relationship between the United States and Israel is vital, as it is with every country around the world. In today’s complex global landscape, strong partnerships help us navigate challenges in security, diplomacy, and economic development.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B) most accurately describes my opinion. I believe healthcare is a human right, not a privilege. Everyone should have access to affordable, high-quality care, regardless of income, background, or zip code. That’s why I support expanding public healthcare options for those who need them, while still allowing people to keep private insurance if they choose. It's about choice and access.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Vaccinations are a critical tool in protecting public health and preventing the spread of infectious diseases. I believe governments, schools, and employers should be able to require vaccinations when there is clear scientific evidence.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

I believe in free enterprise and the right to private property as fundamental pillars of a strong and productive economy — but those rights must come with fairness and opportunity for all. Economic systems should work for the people, not just a select few. That means supporting small businesses, ensuring working families can build generational wealth, and removing barriers that have historically excluded underserved communities.

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I support a fair and livable minimum wage because no one working full-time should struggle to feed their family or keep a roof over their head. Raising the minimum wage is about dignity, justice, and strengthening our communities.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

Yes

Yes — I believe it’s both responsible and forward-thinking to consider environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors when deciding where to invest public funds. Taxpayer dollars should be used in ways that not only deliver financial returns, but also align with our values: clean air and water, fair labor practices, community development, and strong ethical governance.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Agree

I believe securing our southern border is important for national security and public safety, but it must be part of a comprehensive approach. Physical barriers alone won’t solve the complex issues of immigration, human trafficking, and drug smuggling. We need smart investments in technology, personnel, and immigration reform that uphold our values and provide fair, humane treatment. Border security should protect our communities while recognizing the contributions of immigrants to our country.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Agree

I believe every child deserves access to a quality education, but public funds should primarily support our public schools, which serve the majority of students and are the foundation of our communities. While parents’ involvement is crucial, and school choice can play a role, we must ensure that funding is equitable and strengthens public education rather than undermining it. Investing in our public schools where resources, teachers, and programs reach all children.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Agree

I believe in a balanced approach to public safety that includes both effective policing and strong community support. While law enforcement is critical to maintaining order, investing in community programs such as youth services, mental health resources, and job training can address root causes of crime and build safer neighborhoods. Redirecting some funds thoughtfully can enhance both safety and opportunity for all residents.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I support common-sense gun laws that respect the Second Amendment while protecting our communities. This includes universal background checks, red flag laws to prevent access for those who pose a danger to themselves or others, and closing loopholes on gun purchases. Responsible gun ownership and public safety can go hand in hand. We owe it to our children, families, and neighborhoods to take action that saves lives.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

No

I do not support arming teachers as a solution to school safety. Educators are trained to teach, not to serve as armed security. Our focus should be on investing in school resource officers, mental health support, secure building infrastructure, and violence prevention programs. Safe learning environments come from thoughtful planning and community investment not putting more guns in classrooms.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No, I have never been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No, I have never been convicted of a felony.

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The general purpose of government is to serve and protect the people by ensuring their safety, promoting justice, and providing essential services. The government exists to create an environment where individuals and communities can thrive upholding the rule of law, safeguarding rights and freedoms, and fostering opportunities for economic and social well-being. Ultimately, the government should be a trusted partner that works for the common good.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Moderate

I identify as a moderate who values practical solutions that bridge differences and focus on the well-being of our communities. I believe in listening to diverse perspectives and working collaboratively to address economic, social, and policy challenges in ways that create opportunity and fairness for all.

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Agree

Children are indeed among the most vulnerable members of our society, and protecting them from abuse in all forms is a top priority. This includes ensuring their safety, well-being, and access to accurate information as they grow and develop. It’s important to approach sensitive topics like gender identity with compassion, respect, and guidance from medical professionals and families. Our goal should always be to create safe environments where children can thrive physically and emotionally.

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

I strongly believe that parents should have the primary right to make decisions for their minor children. Parents know their children best and should be empowered to guide their upbringing, education, and healthcare. At the same time, it’s important that those decisions are made with the child’s best interests in mind and within the framework of protecting their health, safety, and well-being.

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Choose not to answer

I believe healthcare should be accessible to all individuals, including gender transition services for those who need them as part of their medical care. Providing support and coverage for these services is about recognizing the dignity and health needs of every person. That said, I also understand this is a sensitive issue for many, and decisions around funding must be made thoughtfully, with respect for diverse perspectives and a focus on ensuring equitable access to essential healthcare.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Disagree

I deeply respect the importance of marriage in faith and tradition as a sacred union. At the same time, our government has a responsibility to uphold the civil rights and freedoms of all citizens. Marriage, as a legal institution, has evolved to recognize and protect loving, committed relationships of all consenting adults. It’s important to honor both personal beliefs and the diversity that makes our communities strong and inclusive.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

As a Christian, my faith is a guiding force in my life, grounding me in principles of love, service, and community. I believe in the power of hope, forgiveness, and working together to uplift one another. These values inspire me to serve my constituents with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to justice. Spirituality, for me, is about living a life that reflects kindness, responsibility, and respect for all people.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Agree

Voting is a fundamental right, and we must ensure it’s accessible to all eligible citizens. While photo identification is important for election security, it shouldn’t be the sole requirement. Accepting other reliable forms of identification like utility bills, government-issued documents, or bank statements can help remove barriers without compromising integrity. It’s about striking the right balance between protecting our elections and making sure every voice is heard.

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Neutral

I understand the desire to make every vote count equally in presidential elections, and the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact aims to address that by ensuring the candidate with the most votes wins. However, I also believe it’s important to carefully consider the impact on states’ rights and the balance of power our Constitution provides. Any changes to our election system should be approached thoughtfully, with broad consensus and respect for our federalist principles.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes, racism is a serious threat to domestic security in the United States. It fuels division, violence, and hate crimes that undermine the safety and unity of our communities. Addressing racism is not just a moral imperative it’s essential for building a secure, just, and inclusive society where everyone can thrive. We must invest in education, community programs, and law enforcement training to confront and dismantle systemic racism at every level.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Agree

I believe it’s important to have honest conversations about race and history in our country. While Critical Race Theory is a complex and often misunderstood framework, at its core, it seeks to examine how systemic racism has shaped institutions over time. Recognizing these realities helps us work toward a more just and equitable society. However, it’s equally important to approach these discussions in ways that bring people together, promote understanding, and inspire positive change.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Neutral

I recognize that issues surrounding gender identity and participation in sports and gender-specific spaces are deeply complex and evoke strong feelings on all sides. It’s important to protect fairness in women’s sports and ensure the safety and privacy of all individuals in spaces like bathrooms, locker rooms, and shelters. At the same time, we must approach these matters with compassion, respect for everyone’s dignity, and a commitment to finding solutions to honor both inclusion and fairness.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action. Protecting our environment is essential for the health and future of our communities and economy. While we must be mindful of economic impacts, the long-term benefits of stricter environmental protections far outweigh the costs. Climate change is a real and urgent threat, and we need proactive policies that address it while promoting sustainable energy.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Meeting our growing electricity demand requires a diverse energy mix that balances reliability, affordability, and sustainability. Renewable sources like solar and wind are vital for a clean energy future.
