Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
All life has dignity and value because humanity is made in the image of God. I will work to defend the unborn by supporting legislation that will continue to restrict access to abortion even as we seek to overturn Roe v Wade.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Thankfully, WI is required to balance its budget. To balance the budget, work could be done to eliminate duplicative programs, pork barrel spending, or spending that does not serve legitimate government purposes.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Each entity has its own sphere of authority and influence. The Church has its mission to spread the gospel, while government has its mission to protect. Government should not restrict, regulate or interfere with matters concerning conscience and the soul. These are the domains of the church. The church, however, is a stabilizing influence within society as it teaches truths that work for the good of society.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
The immigration system, as it is currently set up, is dysfunctional. It is a congressional issue that must be addressed. Borders must be secured, and immigrants who apply legally must be vetted and processed quickly. This will avoid the multi-year wait periods which contribute to some of the illegal crossings. America prides herself on its immigration history, and she should aspire to live up to this principle: "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free."

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Humanity is made in the image of God; created to steward and rule the world in the context of relationships. However, because of the Fall, these efforts are cursed. Accordingly, all of humanity's efforts to create a just and righteous world will be flawed. Yet, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, individuals can be redeemed. Final redemption for humanity and the world will occur at the return of Christ.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
My experience as a university associate professor of history gives me an historic and current understanding of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. My research skills enable me to dig into issues, and my years of teaching and creating curriculum will enable me to clearly communicate those issues both in the legislature and to constituents.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I was raised in a working-class family in the Milwaukee area. My father was a factory worker, and my mother worked in the home. I credit my parents with instilling within me with a strong-work ethic. I earned two bachelor's degrees at Maranatha Baptist University (Watertown), graduating with honors. I was the first person in my family to earn a college degree. I worked hard to pay my tuition bills, graduating debt-free. After college, I taught high school history and English before becoming an associate professor of history at Maranatha. I taught my students that each generation of Americans must fight to sustain its liberties. Our generation is facing clear dangers to the rule of law, the principle of equality under the law, our system of government, and our liberties. Even as we honor our soldiers for fighting for our liberties abroad, so to must we fight for our liberties here at home.

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
You have the right to protect yourself and your family. Law-abiding citizens exercising their 2nd Amendment rights are a powerful deterrent to would-be criminals. I support Wisconsin’s concealed carry law. Gun violence in our state is the fault of criminals, not gun owners. Enforcement of current law is far more important than pursuing some new law that will do nothing to stop lawbreakers.

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
Pro life issues involving both the unborn and the elderly. Education Legislation addressing Critical Race Theory. Transparency in Healthcare.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Traditionally defined, racism is the belief that one ethnic group is superior to another. Behavior based on this false assumption of superiority is always dangerous because it denies the dignity of one made in God's image. Critical Race Theory, while purporting to eliminate racism, is actively seeking to pit one group against another, resulting in a resurgence of segregation. This theory does pose a threat to domestic security.
