Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

There are no circumstances that abortion should be allowed.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Michigan's Personal Income Tax should be eliminated over the next two years. Citizens should not be punished for working. The Corporate Tax rate should be reduced from 4.5% to 2.5%. Property tax should be eliminated for persons over 65 years old.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

The administrative state must be reduced; fees and regulatory costs should be reduced, and in many cases, eliminated; funding to colleges and universities should be reduced or in many cases eliminated; funding for prisons and other social programs should be greatly reduced and replaced with faith based or private organizations. Work release programs will reduce prison costs.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

The subject of all public education in general should be visited. I am in favor of less federal and state involvement, and more local and parental involvement. Not all students are college ready or desire a college education. Trade schools should be a part of the discussion.

There are no circumstances that government can close churches. The first amendment to the US Constitution prohibits the government from closing churches.


HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C) Because those that have paid into it are due what was promised, however, we need to re-visit any type of government dependency.

There are no circumstances under which a government, school, or employer should be allowed to require vaccinations.


NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

1.Strong military (including eliminating political policies that weaken the military) 2.Secure borders 3.Awareness of the threat of Islamic terrorism 4.Aid in the elimination of the threat world-wide, not just in the U.S.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

It is impossible to understand life, knowledge, wisdom, government, human rights, dignity, economics, medicine, and care for the poor and needy outside of a biblical framework which provides us as believers in Jesus Christ a biblical world view. Every person has a world view that determines the perspective from which they derive their conclusions. Our country was founded on Judeo-Christian values supported in an abundance of historical documentation. George Washington said, “It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible” and he additionally warned “Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.” Having said that, please note that these answers do not represent a belief that America is or was founded as a Theocracy. America is not a Theocracy. America is a Constitutional Republic whereby its Declaration of Independence states the framework for its very foundation, and the Constitution contains the structure, whereby both the Declaration and Constitution are based solidly on Biblical principals.


ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I would enforce the current protections codified in our laws. In addition I would propose the ban of third party funding such as "Zuckerberg Bucks" which allow the buying of elections. I would propose "same day result" laws; increase penalties for election fraud; water marked ballots; paper ballots; removal of Dominion voting machines; and request only absentee ballots.


EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. It is often a threat to domestic tranquility though. CRT and other anti-race and anti-American curriculum should be banned from our schools and public institutions.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

Biblically – The Bible defines the purpose of government as being a threat to those who do evil, a reward to those who do good (Romans 13), and a guarantor to those who by right deserve to live a peaceful and quiet life (I Timothy 2). Historically – See question 1, answer under “Historically” with emphasis on “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men . . . laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness”. Constitutionally – In a Constitutional Republic such as ours, the purpose of government is to uphold the Constitution as written and intended by our Founding Fathers. The purpose of government is to recognize its limited role and to demonstrate subservience to the Constitution, and to the people it represents. Practically – As the 50th Governor of Michigan, I will uphold the U.S. Constitution and the Constitution of the State of Michigan, and will work tirelessly to shrink the size and scope of government. As I travel throughout Michigan, one of the reoccurring themes I hear is a desire to get government out of the way. Government is too big, too intrusive, and too powerful. Government also works best at the local level. I will encourage more local control and less federal and state control.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

Protecting the life of the unborn; dismantling the public school system and re-structuring at the local level with parental involvement; offering school choice to all children; securing our election process; encouraging small business; supporting efforts for energy independence; protecting religious and medical freedom. Regarding the Family - Our country was founded on Judeo-Christian values. When we model God’s principals, it positively affects the lives of all those around us. We will never fix the state until we fix the city, we will never fix the city until we fix the neighborhood, and we can never fix the neighborhood until we fix the family. The family is broken, and we must address the needs of, as well as, the attacks on the family. History has shown that when we get God right, we get the family right. Our Founders took great pains to write and record for us the importance and value of the family as defined by God. The re-defining of the family has caused confusion, instability, and deterioration in our society. The nuclear family is a God ordained institution and is fundamentally important and foundational. God’s definition of the nuclear family provides stability in society, and promotes an environment out of which future generations are equipped to live productive lives. Our Founders supported and protected the God ordained institution of the nuclear family; marriage between one man and one woman, and “man” and “woman” as defined by their birth. The transgender movement to indoctrinate our children is very dangerous and I will fight to protect our children from this type of mental and emotional abuse. Economic Policy – My economic policy is guided by the Biblical enterprise of the free market system; that capitalism creates the most wealth, ensures the most freedom, and generates the highest output of productivity, innovation, motivation, and creativity than any other economic system.


CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
