QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Taxpayers should never have to fund abortions.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Disagree
I do not believe in forcing patients to remain on life support if they choose not to. However, I do not believe in assisting suicide.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Personally, I do not believe in abortion. I believe we should support pregnancy prevention education, options and support to empower pregnant women and families, and adoption programs.
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Strongly Disagree
I support equal opportunity for all Americans and enhancing community resources to empower all Americans to succeed.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
We cannot reduce inflation by printing and circulating more money. Our national deficit is a profound issue that must be addressed by reducing wasteful government spending.
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I believe we must reevaluate our tax system to reduce loopholes that allow wealthy individuals and corporations to reduce or avoid their taxes. We should also address the confusing complexities of the tax code that hurt everyday Americans, especially lower to middle class families (who are audited and penalized far too often).
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I believe in all of our First Amendment rights, including religious liberty. All American liberties deserve the highest level of protection under the law.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Neutral
I do not believe that anyone should be forced to participate in activities that violate their personal morals and beliefs, whatever those may be. However, no Americans should be denied general goods or services based on their personal beliefs, as discrimination is illegal and immoral.
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
I believe in the separation of church and state. However, our freedom of religion should be protected for all Americans, including elected representatives.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Vaccinations should not be mandated, which is why religious and medical exemptions exist. Our institutions and public officials should provide education and data to encourage Americans to make the best health decisions for themselves and their families.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. I believe that Medicaid and Medicare are important programs that should be improved. I support our free market, but we must address the unacceptably high costs of privatized health care. Unfortunately, our country cannot currently afford taxpayer funded healthcare for all.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. We have ample suffering and issues in our own country that we must address before policing the world.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Disagree
Although I fully support free democracies, I believe we must finally prioritize our profound issues in our own country.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
We should prioritize reforming and investing in national security, including intelligence.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Fentanyl is pouring over our southern border, resulting in tens of thousands of annual fatal overdoses and increased drug crimes and trafficking. We must ensure that existing immigration and border security policies are enforced. However, we should also reform our existing immigration system to make legal immigration easier for good, hardworking people seeking better lives for themselves and their families.
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Law enforcement matters.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Everyone should be allowed to immigrate to the United States so long as they abide by our immigration laws.
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Agree
No one should be discriminated against for anything.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Acknowledging our dark history is important, and we can always improve. However, I do not believe that the United States is fundamentally racist today.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian and my spiritual beliefs and values align with the Bible. However, I support the First Amendment and freedom of religion for all Americans.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Photo ID is necessary for secure elections.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I believe voting should occur in person via paper ballots, and Election Day should be a national holiday (to make voting more convenient for all Americans).
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
https://chaosandcontrol.substack.com/p/patricia-kline-announces-independent
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I am an educator, businesswoman, and conservative running as an Independent because I believe in people over parties. We need everyday Americans, not career politicians, in office for a change. I am not beholden to any special interests, and answer only to the people of New Jersey's First Congressional District. I support individual rights, parental rights, education reform, reducing national spending (and therefore taxes), energy independence, investing in jobs, protecting small and private businesses from overregulation, term limits, national security (including border security), immigration system reform, and prioritizing our issues and suffering at home over other countries.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
Officers should not be prosecuted if they follow proper protocols.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
Funding for police should be separate from social service funding.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Background and mental health checks.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
