QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Did not answer
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Never
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
I believe the US has got involved in issues that we shouldn’t have been involved in and this has made us enemies because they see us as bullies. We must always take swift action when Americans are in danger or have been targeted, but I believe that we have plenty of issues that need to be handled on the home front.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
I do not believe that we can just abolish Medicaid and Medicare, but I do believe the programs need a major overhaul.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
I don’t believe the government should require any business to require or not require vaccinations. I do believe that government should stay out of private business decisions and leave those issues between the employer and employee.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I would love to see no property tax on someone’s homestead property. I believe homeownership is part of the american dream and we truly never own our land because if we don’t pay taxes the government gets it.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I believe there’s a lot of changes that need to be made, but I think one of the best practices we could do as a state is start each agency’s budget at 0 and build it based on actual needs and not previous years numbers. Each agency goes on a spending spree at the end of budget year because they are afraid if they don’t spend all of their money, they will have their budget cut the next year. I believe a needs based budget would free up millions of dollars.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Agree
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Unsecured borders are one of the biggest national security threats this country faces.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I believe our country was built by people with diverse ethnicity. I don’t believe in shutting out any one particular group. I do believe it is important we have a vetting process and each person is screened and cleared before they are allowed to enter. I also believe that immigrants need to be able to show how they plan to provide for themselves once they get here. We shouldn’t be allowing anyone in that doesn’t have a plan. We have plenty of Americans citizens that are in need and our social welfare programs are already strained. We should not provide these programs to any immigrants until they have been in our country for several years.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Neutral
I believe that we have areas in this state where public schools are thriving. I believe there are also areas of the state that need a lot of work in regards to education. I don’t believe this is a one size fits all solution. I believe we must be very careful with how we handle school choice.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Agree
I do believe if an officer is following the law and policy that they should be protected. I believe that removing that protection would almost make it impossible to find anyone to work in the field. While I support the immunity when acting within the scope Of the law, I would be in favor of very stiff penalties if officers act in a clearly malice way that isn’t consistent with law and policy.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Disagree
We have to have law and order in our community.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Did not answer
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
I believe my role as a public official is to work to improve quality of life. I am for a very limited government.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
Did not answer
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
Did not answer
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Agree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
I believe this rhetoric is meant to divide our country even more.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Christian-Southern Baptist
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I would love to do away with electronic machines. I also believe that when the polls close at 7 pm, we should never stop counting votes until all votes have been counted. I read several articles from Ga pertaining the 2020 presidential election. Some of the counties stopped counting ballots for the evening then started back the next day. I believe we should work with each probate judge to have a 2nd shift crew on standby in case there is a need for them to continue counting. To me, when they stop counting, it gives the perception that they are waiting to see how many votes are needed to change the outcome of an election. Let’s have paper ballots that are counted in an open room with representatives from each candidate and each political party involved.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
The media and certain political figures have really played up race issues for the simple fact it gets attention and rally’s a voter base. Our country is in a sad state when law enforcement officers can’t do their jobs because of a divide that has been created for political reasons. I don’t believe true racism is a threat, but I do believe maybe some politicians could be a threat to domestic security with their rhetoric
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
I will be the first to say that slavery is a tragic part of our earths history. I don’t believe reparations can be given to any certain race because I believe people from all races were involved in all levels of slave trade. Their are victims from every race and their are people from every race that profited from it.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Agree
