RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I am endorsed by the New Jersey Right to Life PAC and I have been endorsed by them in every election for the State Assembly that I have run in since 2013. I have been pro-life my whole life - and it was magnified seeing the miracle of life first-hand with the birth of my three children, and now last year with the birth of my first grandson. If we are supposed to “trust the science” which is something we heard all throughout the pandemic by the left, then we would know the eternal truth is that life begins at conception. With modern scientific technology, we can educate the world on the horrors of abortion on demand and begin to move our society morally and culturally to where abortion is no longer an alternative to life. We must reverse Phil Murphy and the Democrats’ radical new law which has codified the legalization of abortion right up to the moment of birth. I opposed this abomination when it passed the Assembly. We cannot protect the unborn in New Jersey if this law remains on the books. I have a 100 percent pro-life voting record – opposing every pro-abortion law that has been enacted since I have been in office and I have opposed abortion funding by the State family planning funding, and funding for Planned Parenthood as well as opposing abortion funding mandates on health insurers. I have sponsored and voted for expansions of and funding to support New Jersey’s Safe Haven Infant Protection Act which has now saved 33 babies since I was first elected in 2013.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

In the Assembly, I have voted against forcing New Jersey taxpayers to fund Planned Parenthood and "family planning."

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

I voted against New Jersey's physician-assisted suicide law.

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

New Jersey has the highest property taxes in the nation, averaging over $9,490. The State has some of the highest income and corporate taxes in the country putting us at a competitive disadvantage in trying to attract new businesses and jobs while keeping families and current employers here. As an Assemblyman, I have sponsored legislation on tax reduction, government transparency and the elimination of wasteful spending in order to lower property taxes as well as state taxes as well. I have also made property taxes a priority and I have sponsored over 100 bills to address property taxes. New Jersey has the most unequal school funding in the country. I fight for fair school funding for children in rural and suburban school districts. I am a sponsor of ACR-54, which proposes an amendment to Constitution specifying a method of providing for the maintenance and support of a thorough and efficient system of free public schools and allocating all income tax receipts to school districts and A-961, which establishes a formula for the distribution of State aid to school districts. The Fair School Funding plan which would eliminate the court’s meddling in school funding once and for all and bring back precious state resources throughout New Jersey. Enact judicial reforms to keep the state Supreme Court from raising our property taxes through their decisions on school funding (Abbott). These include retention elections and giving the Legislature and/or the voters the power to overturn decisions. I am supportive of Governor Christie’s Tool Kit legislation as well as the Path to Progress legislation. The Legislature passed several pieces of both packages so far, such as the 2 percent cap on property tax increases, public sector pension and health benefits reform, and some Council on Local Mandate reform; we need to do more. I am a sponsor to bring back the full property tax deduction for all New Jersey homeowners (A-2061). I sponsor of convening a special session of the Legislature to lower property taxes (ACR-14). Concerning State Taxes, I have sponsored: A2059, the Marriage Penalty Elimination Act to lower state income taxes for married couples. A2058, indexing the state income tax for inflation to prevent “bracket creep” which artificially increases income taxes. A2899, eliminates $375 minimum Corporation Business Tax on New Jersey S corporations with New Jersey gross receipts of less than $100,000. A735, eliminates the New Jersey inheritance tax. A1146, reduce New Jersey’s Corporate Business Tax rate. A1032, allows state income tax deduction for charitable contributions to New Jersey-based charitable organizations. A1657, reduces state income tax rates by ten percent over three years.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

New Jersey has a spending problem. I have voted against all of Governor Murphy's budgets. His latest budget for the FY2024 fiscal year is 7% larger than the previous year’s budget, and it’s 57% bigger than the prior administration's final budget. That's a huge and unsustainable spending increase in just six years of $20 billion! We need to reduce the size of State Government in New Jersey by eliminating wasteful and duplicative programs. We can start by defunding Planned Parenthood and programs and spending geared towards illegal immigration. $1.2 billion in pork projects in targeted Democrat legislative districts are in this year’s budget. They should be eliminated at once. And we should thoroughly review the operations of State government, from top to bottom with our State Comptroller and State Auditor to make cuts and efficiencies. I sponsor the following to help further identify budget cuts: A2053, Establishes Red Tape Review Commission. A2056, Authorizes State Auditor to conduct cost-benefit analyses of certain programs and initiatives. A4161, Establishes Government Efficiency and Regulatory Review Commission.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

None.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

I definitely opposed to A) and B). I am against "Medicare For All" and ObamaCare. Medicare is entirely a federal program and State legislators have little to no say over it. Medicaid on the other hand is a joint federal-state program and as State Legislators we have much meaningful say over it. I do not support Medicaid funding abortions and would support a State constitutional amendment prohibiting such funding. I believe we need to look at alternatives to Medicaid and Charity Care (emergency rooms) to treat our poor and working poor for routine health care in New Jersey, such as empowering a statewide network of free health clinics operated by volunteer health professionals in exchange for coverage of the medical malpractice insurance for their private practices. Since 2018, the Democrats in New Jersey have enacted a series of state-level ObamaCare laws such as the individual mandate and other mandates on consumers, businesses, doctors, some religious employers, and health insurance companies – I voted against these laws and I would seek to start to repeal these laws.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

There are no circumstances for the government, schools, or employers to force vaccinations on anyone.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

We need to control our borders - I supported the Trump Era policy of prohibiting those from terrorist countries from coming to the United States. Radical Muslims represent a small % of the world's estimated 1.6 billion Muslims. It is no secret that in order for this fringe to succeed and grow and thrive, they need to be well funded, and cutting off their source of funding is key to eliminating radical Islamic terrorism. And lastly and most obvious, support our ally Israel. Israel’s maintenance of defensible borders that preserve peace and promote stability in the region is a necessity.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

It is not so much as the “who” but instead having a proper vetting program to ensure that legal immigration will benefit American taxpayers, and that terrorists and criminals, those with infectious diseases, and those who will unfairly compete for jobs are prevented from entering the United States. The United States has every right to limit the number of legal immigrants per year as well as to take whatever steps to make sure that those who are entering legally are fully vetted. New Jersey should mandate E-Verify to ensure that only those who are legal to do so can be employed here. As an Assemblyman, I have worked with organizations like the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) and NumbersUSA to propose legislation to strengthen New Jersey laws to combat illegal immigration as well as opposing Murphy’s sanctuary state, pro-illegal immigration policies.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My family and I have a long relationship with the Beemerville Presbyterian Church.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I am opposed to rank choice voting. I am opposed to allowing non-United States Citizens votes and I am also opposed to allowing inmates to be able to vote. I am a sponsor of the following Election Integrity bill package: A-1139 – Removes 48-hour provision for acceptance of ballots postmarked by election day; increases penalties for violation of ballot messenger and bearer limits and candidate prohibition. A-113 – Requires certain documentation as proof of voter identity to vote; updates procedures for challenging voters regarding proof of identity. A-139 – Repeals the “Agreement Among the States to Elect the President by National Popular Vote.” A-356 - Permits county clerk to remove voters from vote-by-mail lists under certain circumstances. A-361 - Requires Secretary of State create website for voters to report irregularities regarding mail-in ballots; establishes "Vote by Mail Study Commission." A-1395 – Provides for agreement between Secretary of State and AOC to match information in Statewide voter registration system with certain jury records in order to identify and remove ineligible non-citizen voter registrants from system. A-776 - Requires Secretary of State to establish voter list maintenance and crosscheck program and to include certain voter registration data in annual report to Governor and Legislature. A-1679 – Requires electronic voting system vendors disclose financial ties prior to electronic voting system approval by Secretary of State. A-4638 – Requires voter who wishes to vote by mail to complete application for mail-in ballot each calendar year; repeals automatic vote-by-mail designation. A-1043 – Prohibits mail-in ballot outer envelope from containing political affiliation or designation visible to public. A-1663– Requires commissioner of registration to move voters with undeliverable mail-in ballots to inactive file; removes such inactive voters from Statewide voter registration system following failure to vote in two consecutive federal general elections. A-1664 – Requires AG to create voting fraud task force. A-1420 – Prohibits approval of voting machine or voting system if vendor is foreign company, if domestic vendor exports technology overseas, or due to major non-citizen ownership. A-3388 – Transfers Division of Elections from Department of State to Department of Law and Public Safety; designates Attorney General as chief election official and requires two bipartisan co-directors. A-3652 - Allows appointment of challengers to any election district within congressional or legislative district where challenger resides. A-3701 - Requires Secretary of State and county commissioners of registration to perform audit of voter registration records in Statewide Voter Registration System. A-4452 - Removes prohibition on police presence at ballot drop boxes and polling places. A-5385 - Prohibits use of private funds and personnel in governmental offices and procedures pertaining to administration of elections; establishes crimes and penalties for violations. ACR-44 – Proposes constitutional amendment to provide registered voters with right to cast ballot in person at polling place on election day; requires mail-in ballot request before voter receives mail-in ballot.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is abhorrent. We have laws that protect us from those who wish to commit harm, bodily or otherwise. In addition, New Jersey already has tough anti-hate crime laws who punish those who commit bodily harm against others based on the color of their skin.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

Government needs to live within its means and do only what it is allowed for them to do based on our US Constitution and New Jersey Constitution as seen through the lens of Declaration of Independence. The size and scope of government needs to be reduced.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

Never

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

My running mates, Dawn Fantasia and Mike Inganamort, and I want to share our latest release condemning Governor Murphy's latest attack on parental rights: SPACE, FANTASIA, & INGANAMORT CONDEMN STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION FOR PROMOTING IDENTITY POLITICS IN SCHOOLS! -Conservative trio vow to overturn the new regs with a Republican Majority next year- Today, District 24 legislative candidates Assemblyman Parker Space for Senate and Dawn Fantasia and Mike Inganamort for Assembly ripped the Murphy administration and the New Jersey State Board of Education (BOE) for once again putting identity politics ahead of parental rights. “These new regulations are ridiculous and a slap in the face to every parent in New Jersey,” said Space, who has championed parental rights legislation and has opposed dangerous curriculum standards pushed by Governor Murphy and the Democrats. “They need to be overturned, either in the courts or by the legislature.” Yesterday, the State BOE approved changes to current regulations entitled “Managing for Equality and Equity in Education” that, among other things, would mandate that separation between boys and girls for education classes and sports would not be based on science, but instead on gender identity - not biological sex - allowing biological boys to compete in girls’ sports. Additionally, the new regulations removed gendered nouns and pronouns, as well as all mentions of the word "equality". “As a parent and an educator, I am disgusted that, yet again, the Murphy administration has steamrolled parents and educators in order to force their unscientific, misguided progressive agenda into our public schools,” said Fantasia, who is a Sussex County Commissioner and a public charter school administrator. "These new regulations are a thinly-veiled attack on the rights of female students, and they strip away the level playing field that so many have fought for." As an Assemblyman, Space joined with fifteen of his legislative colleagues, including Senator Steve Oroho and Assemblyman Hal Wirths in urging the State BOE not to vote on these controversial changes; Fantasia and Inganamort sent their own joint letter vigorously opposing the standards as well. Word already is out that lawsuits are being prepared to challenge the new regulations. Moreover, under the oversight power of the state legislature, the Assembly and Senate could vote to overturn the regulations without approval of the Governor. “This is why it is imperative that those who are concerned with parental rights vote Republican this fall in order to gain majorities in both houses of the legislature,” said Inganamort, the Mayor of Chester Township and a parent of three girls. “I know I speak on behalf of Parker and Dawn when I say that we pledge to start the process to overturn these outrageous regulations if the Murphy administration does not rescind them.” In fact, a Republican majority in both houses of the legislature can not only stop liberal legislation from passing, but also can overturn other draconian regulations and orders from Murphy, such as his future bans on gas stoves and traditional automobiles among others. “If the voters empower Republicans, and if elected, Parker, Mike, and I will start the oversight process immediately come January and see to it that Murphy’s nonsense is overturned,” Fantasia added.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The Second Amendment is an unalienable right, which the Supreme Court affirmed last year, and I have not supported further restrictions on law-abiding citizens. Violent felons and illegal immigrants should not be allowed to own and possess firearms; that is already the law. New Jersey needs to bring its draconian gun laws in line with the decisions from the Supreme Court.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree
