RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.

EDUCATION

What is the function of the local school board?

The school board has 3 main goals. 1. School boards create, review, and ensure state and local policy compliance. 2. Board members are fiscally responsible for setting, voting on, and reporting back to the community about the district's financial state. 2. School Boards directly manage the superintendent.

Parent's should never be restricted from speaking in school board members.

The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.

Neutral

Local school boards with good governance will always do whatever is necessary to support it's students. Especially when working in alignment with the community's wants for its schools.

Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.

Agree

I do believe that all caregivers should be able to make decisions about what is best for their children. But it is also true that some families will not always know how to access those choices or have the ability or bandwidth to understand their options or make decisions about their's child's education. Therefore we also need high-performing public neighborhood schools that are the kinds of places that make students, families, and staff feel safe and want to learn and grow.

School boards are accountable to parents and taxpayers.

Strongly Agree
