Our society is in a much better position when all citizens have an education. It would benefit the citizens if the government would fund education from Pre-K through college and when appropriate even higher degrees.

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
Parents play a crucial role in teaching their children about sex education from a young age, creating an open and safe environment for their children to ask questions, and addressing any concerns they may have. In Addition, Education in school is very important . The school has educated teachers who provide the correct information based on the age of the student. It also provides sex education programs, talking to them without creating confusion. Since children spend a lot of time in schools. Therefore educating them is a mutual responsibility. This is a topic that not all parents know how to talk to their children since for many, culture has a lot to do with it. In my case, my parents never educated me about sexuality, everything I learned was in school through Health Class and peers.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I obtained my Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center in 1992 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Houston in 1990. I have a master’s degree in Counseling from Sam Houston State University and is certified by the State of Texas as an Academic Advisor. My practice includes personal injury litigation, general business matters, family law and probate matters. I am certified by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, serves as a Commissioner for the Harris County Courts, and is a Certified Ad Litem for the Family and Probate Courts of Harris County. I have been appointed by Harris County Commissioner Court as a Commission on the Board for Harris County Housing. For ten years, I served as the Government affairs director for Harris County Commissioner Jack Cagle where I worked directly with Harris County Commissioners. I have been immersed in issues impacted by the County Attorney’s office. On behalf of Harris County precinct 4, I served as liaison to the Harris County Appraisal District, Harris Health, as well as the Harris County Community Services Offices. In Addition to practicing law, I am an elected official serving as a Trustee on the Board of the Aldine Independent School District. The trustees are called upon to serve the needs of the district and its school children not the wishes of a particular block of voters. To meet this end, the Texas Legislature has adopted a governance structure unique to the public education environment. I am very familiar with the legislation and the codes of enforcement. I have extensive public service experience and is the General Counsel for the United States Tennis Association-Texas Section, as well as a life member of the Houston Tennis Association and the United States Tennis Association. I serve as an Executive Board Member for the Center for the Professional Development of Teachers at the University of Houston-Downtown. I am on the Board of Directors for Dress Up Houston which provides clothing for the needy, and The Guardian Angels Academy, a charter school. I also served on the Board of Directors of the Country Playhouse and is a member of the Houston Bar Association’s Speakers Bureau where I discus social and legal trends in schools and civic organizations. I am divorced with no children and I have three cats Picasso, Dante and Chloe.
