OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

If a mother’s health is in grave danger, all viable efforts to save an unborn child should be explored.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Agree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

The unnecessary kind. The spending that is passed in bills that aren’t even read prior to passing.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Disagree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

“We hold these truths to be self evident...” Those truths our founding fathers acknowledged were granted to us by a higher power. “In God we trust...” many people have many different views of ‘God.’ The separation of church and state, to me, means that we have FAITH in the goodness of people, but we have STATUTES to be held accountable by.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Agree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

It would be my hope that members of both parties could work together to address such a large issue.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Neutral

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

The United States was created in the spirit of being ‘the melting pot.’ I believe that anyone who legally qualifies and applies to immigrate to the United States should be encouraged to do so.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Neutral

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Neutral

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

No Answer

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe every person deserves respect, kindness and compassion. I personally am a Christian and have raised my two sons as such. I do however, respect other’s differing opinions, faiths, traditions and histories.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Did not answer

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have been a resident of the 90th District virtually all of my life. I have raised my family here, I understand and cherish our values and traditions. Having owned my own business I have perspective from many angles to the needs of families, job creators and the community. I want to ensure the the best of my ability that we are represented authentically in Jefferson City by a true member of our community. It is imperative to keep our children and families healthy and our homes and streets safe.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No and no. No explanation needed.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am a 51 year old wife and mother of two sons (19 & 21). I owned my own business, Toby’s Plates, in which I produced hand painted personalized ceramic pieces. After 12 wonderful years of painting, I found it necessary to close my business to care for my father suffering from mixed variety dementia. I know the struggles of raising children while also protecting our elders. After graduating Webster Groves High School in 1987, I moved out on my own and worked full time even as I started college several years later. I know the value of hard work and determination. I entered this race for State Representative on August 24, 2020, 70 days before November 3rd. I knew I was facing a scrappy, gritty sprint to the finish line but I believe in myself and in the community that helped build my character. I welcome anyone to visit VoteLanders.com to learn more about me or reach out if you have questions. I thank you in advance for your consideration and am most grateful for your support.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I believe fully in the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

No Answer

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

“Protecting Home” - Every person should feel safe at home. We need to support our first responders and defend our right to protect ourselves and our families. “Safe & Solid Education” - Every child has the right to a safe and quality education. Resources to facilitate getting education back on track are essential; as is finding the proper learning environment for each student to flourish. “Jobs & Small Businesses” - Small businesses are the cornerstone of our community. We must do everything we can to support our local jobs and job creators.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I believe the recent events have clearly demonstrated that rioting, looting and vandalization is terrorizing the citizens of this country. No law abiding citizen in this country should be living in fear of harm to themselves or their property. Individuals or groups that break laws - should be held accountable and due process should be the rule of the land. Elected officials and leaders should be held accountable to enforce statutes that apply to all citizens.
