QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Never under any circumstances because the child is innocent.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
The Ten Commandments should not be displayed in public school buildings or court houses.
Strongly Disagree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The government should have no power over the church based upon the first amendment which reads as follows: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
EDUCATION
The federal government should mandate standards and requirements (such as Common Core) for local schools.
Strongly Disagree
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord. I believe in the Holy Spirit and the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. I believe in one God, the Father Almighty and all that is, seen and unseen. This belief has formed my values.

2012 Republican Primary, 2012 General Election, 2014 Republican Primary, 2014 General Election, 2016 Republican Primary, 2016 General Election, 2018 Republican Primary, 2018 General Election
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
My voting record would validate my conservative views. §§§ Eleven years ago, I, like many other Ohioans, supported John Kasich for Governor. I also was serving on the Delaware County Board of Developmental Disability at the time and saw firsthand the outcome of Kasich’s decisions on Medicaid. Because of his decisions, the most vulnerable people in the state lost private duty nursing services. These were medically trained nurses, who provided life sustaining services to clients and which allowed adequate service hours to primary family members, so they had the chance to work outside the home. This is one of many decisions he made while governor that caused me to never support him again and wish to disassociate with him politically.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I have an degree in early childhood development, designed and implemented programs for early childhood and school age programs and I have a Masters in Education and Allied Profession. I am a licensed clinical counselor and an addiction counselor. I have taught at the college level and served 11.5 years on the Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities. My experience has been from birth to college age with mostly typical children but experience with Atypical children. I also co-owned a corporation with 8 licensed child care programs employing 48 employees.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I have been married for 53 years to John Nicks. We have three children and seven grandchildren, five step grandchildren and one great grandchild. We have lived in Delaware County, Ohio for 30 years and our children attended and graduated from public schools. I am very proud of my service on the Delaware County Board of Disabilities and the contributions I made while serving. I was first appointed by Rep. Jon Peterson and reappointed by Commissioner Gary Merrell. Our granddaughter, Julia, suffers from Rett Syndrome and has received services through the local school district.
2ND AMENDMENT
