Separation of church and state is not in the constitution. The Constitution guarantees religion to be free of government interference. It does not prohibit people from bring their religious believes into government. Our religious values are what this country was founded on.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
We had a system that worked. I belief in a medicade system, to catch those that fall through the cracks. We need more competition in insurance coverage, We need to eliminate waste in the system, we need a limit on trial/jury punitive awards not to exceed the amount for actual damages. Payments for duplication of service need to be eliminated. We should have a national language (English) and services should be provided in English only. If the patient needs a translator, the translator should be paid for by the person needing them.

I have a varied background, I grew up on a farm, the same one I live on now. I have had various jobs in law enforcement, State Trooper, Pilot- fixed wing and rotorcraft. I have served on multiple government boards and committees. I have over 45 years working in politics. I have experience on church boards. I have farmed, taught at the university level, been involved in air and ground ambulance services. I have owned a couple business, buying failing business and turning them around. I have lived in many areas of the state and understand the problems vary from area to area. Beyond all else, I have a value system that includes honesty, integrity, ethics, fairness and allowing people to live free from government interference. I believe we need to be able to trust elected officials again.

Elected office is not a profession, one should not be set for life by being elected to any office. I will work to change the automatic pay increases for elected officials. Elections should be without party designation. We pay our legislators well enough, they should not be collecting tips for doing their job from the rich and well heeled. I will not lie to any citizen, I will not spend hard earned taxpayer dollars on large corporations to expand. Unlike the current legislator, I promise I will resign if I drive drunk or instigate a bar room brawl.
