RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I personally do not believe in abortion for myself and my life experiences to date. And while I disagree vehemently with late-term abortions, I believe that there are legitimate medical reasons where they might be necessary. Additionally, as a Libertarian, I am of the belief that government should not be involved in any way in such a difficult decision for anyone. We can not begin to know or fathom what may possess someone to have to make that decision, nor should we judge them for it. Until we have walked a mile in someone else's shoes, we can not begin to understand how comfortable or uncomfortable their walk is.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Disagree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Disagree
The Ten Commandments should not be displayed in public school buildings or court houses.
Neutral
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Separation of church and state means religion and government have no place side by side. People of ALL walks came to and continue to come to America for FREEDOM OF RELIGION. Not just Judaeo-Christian beliefs but ALL beliefs. THAT is what our country was founded on, and what it should stay. Separation of church and state protects that right for Christians, for Buddhists, for Muslims, for Jews, and everyone in between.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Neutral
EDUCATION
The federal government should mandate standards and requirements (such as Common Core) for local schools.
Strongly Disagree
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Neutral
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Neutral
Promotion of the LGBT agenda in public schools, including teaching of “sexual orientation” and “gender identity”, is completely inappropriate and should be opposed at the state and local level.
Neutral
I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.
Neutral
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I was raised Methodist and married the grandson of a Baptist Evangelical preacher & counselor. We are both military veterans with a combined 18 years of service between us. We have experienced much life has to offer outside of Texas and the United States. As such, we raise our children with a belief in God, Jesus, and the Bible, but also with the knowledge that not everyone believes the same as we do, that there is value and knowledge in learning to understand those that believe differently, and that they are free to make their own decisions as to their personal beliefs as they age, grow, and learn.
ABOUT YOU
I voted in these primaries and general elections:
2012 Republican Primary, 2012 General Election, 2014 Republican Primary, 2014 General Election, 2016 General Election, 2018 General Election
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I am a Libertarian both in card-carrying political party and in practicum. For a general overview of my beliefs, you can visit LPTexas.org or LP.org and review the official platforms.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I am a mother of 3 who cares deeply about her children's education. Even if I wasn't though, as a taxpayer and just generally concerned citizen, I care about the education of all Texas children as they are our future. There should be no alternative reasons to run for any public office than being an average citizen who cares for their community, state, country and wants to be involved.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
NO
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am very aware that I come off liberal to conservative votes and conservative to liberal voters. It's a pickle most libertarians find themselves in whether running for office or just talking to individuals privately. Regardless, at the end of the day, I support maximum individual freedom and limited government. In regards to schools, this means the community the school is in should have the most say in what goes on in the school, taught in the school, etc. The state should have minimal metrics that should be met and there should be zero federal involvement.
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
