QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Only in limited circumstances; to include but not limited to persons with health problems or a fetus created out of rape.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.
Agree
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
The best way to reduce unemployment is job creation. Plain and simple. One way we can accomplish this is by finding ways to better fund education. Better educated people get higher paying jobs. Currently we have a major problem in our education system during the novel COVID 19 pandemic. We have seen firsthand how far behind we are in terms of broadband internet and its link to allowing everyone of our students the opportunity to continue their education.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
Government’s role in boosting the economy should be to provide infrastructure and systems that facilitate economic activity. This should be done while forming regulations that ensure fair business operations, while also creating an economic environment in which businesses can thrive. Government should want to foster growth in the economy by enhancing policy that improves both education and training for potential employees.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I think healthcare coverage that is adequate and affordable for everyone is extremely difficult. One thing that could be done and should be considered is to allow small businesses the same advantages as large employers when they offer insurance. Small businesses employ a large percentage of all workers but yet are not treated the same as larger employers in terms of healthcare. Sooner or later there will have to be a cap on what one pays for health insurance or the number of uninsured is going to rise.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Agree
EDUCATION
Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.
Neutral
Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children.
Strongly Agree
The LGBTQ+ political agenda poses a threat to First Amendment freedoms of speech, expression and religious exercise.
Agree
I support expanding protections in employment and accommodations based on sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
Disagree
If children are given instruction in sex education in public schools, it should not express a preference for abstinence but should be comprehensive, offering discussions on various types of sexual orientations and behaviors plus all types of contraceptives.
Neutral
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
I believe the Founding Fathers intent in creating the Constitution was to limit the power of the federal government, ensuring that a new form of government would not allow one person to have complete power.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a born again Christian of the Baptist religion, believing in the accountability of every person before God.
ABOUT YOU
I voted in these elections:
2012 Primary, 2012 General Election, 2014 Primary, 2014 General Election, 2016 Primary, 2016 General Election, 2018 Primary, 2018 General Election
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
As a lifelong Republican I share in conservative views, especially in economic and social matters. The importance of growing our economy so that each person may better provide for their family is of great importance...it is the American dream. This leads to immigration and the basis by which everyone wants to come to America. It also leads to why we must have immigration laws in place and adhered to, as opposed to allowing anyone into America without proper documentation.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I have a MS degree with an emphasis in Anesthesia. Not only have I been an anesthesia provider for almost 20 years but I have served as an elected official in the Ouachita Parish Police Jury since 2007, having served in every capacity and elected by my peers to serve as President 10 years. I am a small business owner as well. I have experience in working with constituents, chambers of commerce, local and state elites officials, co-ops, water/sewer companies, and local & higher education boards. I understand the needs of NELA and will listen to the voters as I will be their voice on the PSC in regulating public utilities.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
Being elected to the Ouachita Parish Police Jury has been an honor. I enjoy public service and would like to take my years off experience and apply them to representing 24 parishes as the Public Service Commissioner for District 5. We have a need for increased broadband internet in rural northeast LA. Working with the other commissioners to be the vehicle in which we obtain this is a top priority. Water and sewer rates should be looked at routinely. The need for rate increases should be planned accordingly. The pay to play system currently being used in District 5 has to go. Cable network providers need oversight, which can be provided by the PSC. Honest representation with a new conservative approach will benefit the consumer immediately. I am asking for YOUR vote, as it will represent change. I believe in term limits when they are established. I believe in new ideas and change. I believe that 45 years of self service is enough. I want to offer public service to YOU.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support the death penalty.
Strongly Agree
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
More restrictive gun control is needed to protect public safety.
Strongly Disagree
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Gambling should be limited to existing forms and should not be de-regulated or expanded.
