Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that his answers should have been, "I agree.  However, federal immigration policy under this administration has been so ineffective in securing our border that I believe states need to do more in protecting the safety of their citizens and their property.  My No Trespassing Zone plan will create a legal wall to protect the lives and property of citizens on our border by arresting and prosecuting cartel members and the illegal immigrants that associate with them for violating our state trespass laws.  Additionally, through search and seizure upon arrest, the evidence seized will provide law enforcement with the means to investigate cartels and their associates for more serious crimes, including murder, organized crime, drug trafficking, criminal street gangs, money laundering, RICO, and sexual exploitation of children. Upon conviction, cartel members transporting drugs, guns, and engaging in human trafficking will be punished the most severely, with prison sentences ranging from five years to life. Finally, I will allege the death penalty for cartel members who sell fentanyl that causes the death of another person." The No Trespassing Zone relies on a fundamental principle of law enforcement: to deter crime, there must be consequences for violating the law. Whether the penalty is a lengthy prison sentence for a cartel member or a more lenient sentence for a trespasser, the law must be enforced when there is evidence to prove that a crime has been committed. The people of a State are free to expand marriage to include same-sex couples, or to retain the historic definition” of marriage between one man and one woman. Hodges, 135 S.Ct. at 2611."
