RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
As a pro-life, Christian, I believe in the sanctity of life and protecting the lives of unborn children. I believe that Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided, should be overturned, and the issue of abortion should be decided by the people's representatives in their state legislatures. As Attorney General, I would defend Arizona's current abortion law prohibiting abortions after 15 weeks.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I support lower, flatter taxes.
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that his answer should have included, "I am in favor of a flat income tax system, which is simple to understand, eliminates loopholes and preferential tax treatment for special classes of taxpayers. It also prevents government from using the tax system to encourage or discourage certain behaviors at the expense of taxpayers who do not agree or participate, e.g., tax credits for energy devices."
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Did not answer
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that his answer should have been, "As a candidate for Attorney General, I am not in a position to make decisions regarding the state budget. However, as a fiscal conservative, I intend to run the Office of Attorney General prudently and conscientiously knowing that my budget is funded by taxpayers. Where my policy initiatives differ from the previous administration, I intend to first reallocate resources internally before seeking any additional funding."
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that his answer should have included, " There are a variety of career choices and college is not the best choice for everyone. I do not believe that Arizona taxpayers should be burdened with the additional cost of free college for everyone since compulsory college is not our state’s public policy."
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Did not answer
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that his answer should have said, "I strongly disagree with laws that compel speech. As the author of the Arizona Supreme Court’s decision in Brush & Nib Studio v. City of Phoenix, 247 Ariz. 269 (2019), I struck down as unconstitutional a City of Phoenix ordinance requiring owners of a wedding invitation business to create custom made wedding invitations celebrating same-sex weddings. The government cannot, under the First Amendment, compel persons to express messages, or force them to speak viewpoints, that are contrary to their personal convictions or sincerely held religious beliefs. As a committed Christian, I value, and will defend, the right of all Americans to engage in the lawful free exercise of their moral and religious beliefs."
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Did not answer
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that his answer should have been, " There is no question that the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment prohibits the government from closing churches. Such an action by the government would be unconstitutional, and as Attorney General I would strongly and actively oppose it."
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
Did not answer
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that his answer should have been, "Option “C”: “Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary.”
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Did not answer
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that his answer should have been, " Neither the President, nor Congress, has the authority to issue nationwide vaccine mandates. In my opinion, attempts by states and public institutions, such as schools, to mandate vaccinations also violate Due Process, and other laws protecting a citizen’s medical privacy and bodily autonomy."
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Did not answer
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that his answer should have been, " I believe in a strong national defense, secure borders and tough law enforcement to protect our citizens from terrorist threats within our national borders. Islamic extremism is a global threat that must be addressed militarily and economically at the national level. However, when our federal government is led by a liberal administration that is incapable of exerting strength and resolve to deter our enemies, we have an obligation to exercise our State authority to protect our citizens. I will work with law enforcement to improve their ability to detect, arrest, charge and convict terrorists who cross our border. My No Trespassing Zone plan is specifically designed to use Arizona state laws to secure our border, where violent criminals, gangs, cartels, terrorists and illegal immigrants are currently entering easily into our country. Read more about it below."
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that his answer should have been, "Strongly Disagree."
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Did not answer
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that his answers should have been, "I agree. However, federal immigration policy under this administration has been so ineffective in securing our border that I believe states need to do more in protecting the safety of their citizens and their property. My No Trespassing Zone plan will create a legal wall to protect the lives and property of citizens on our border by arresting and prosecuting cartel members and the illegal immigrants that associate with them for violating our state trespass laws. Additionally, through search and seizure upon arrest, the evidence seized will provide law enforcement with the means to investigate cartels and their associates for more serious crimes, including murder, organized crime, drug trafficking, criminal street gangs, money laundering, RICO, and sexual exploitation of children. Upon conviction, cartel members transporting drugs, guns, and engaging in human trafficking will be punished the most severely, with prison sentences ranging from five years to life. Finally, I will allege the death penalty for cartel members who sell fentanyl that causes the death of another person." The No Trespassing Zone relies on a fundamental principle of law enforcement: to deter crime, there must be consequences for violating the law. Whether the penalty is a lengthy prison sentence for a cartel member or a more lenient sentence for a trespasser, the law must be enforced when there is evidence to prove that a crime has been committed. Many people have fought and died to preserve the ideal that America is a nation of laws. To honor those sacrifices, and to protect the lives and property of our citizens, we must enforce those laws.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Did not answer
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that his answer should have been, " All persons who comply with the legal process to immigrate, and who do not pose a security threat or healthcare risk to this country, subject to annual limits established by federal law. I also support legal, temporary entry of foreign workers in sectors that rely on immigrant labor, such as farm workers and laborers in the hospitality and construction industries where there are labor shortages."
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Did not answer
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that his answer should have been, " I support all educational options that give parents the right to determine the best educational setting for their children."
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Did not answer
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that his answer should have been, "I agree that Judea-Christian values played an important role in our country’s founding ideals and documents. However, I also support the constitutional right of all Americans to worship and exercise their sincerely held religious and moral beliefs, as guaranteed by the First Amendment."
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that his answer should have been, "I strongly disagree."
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Did not answer
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGuide that his answer should have been, "As a Christian, I believe that marriage is a sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. I do not believe the government has the Constitutional authority to force churches or other religious institutions to alter this definition. I also disagree with the United States Supreme Court’s holding in Obergefell v. Hodges, 2584 (2015), that the Due Process and Equal Protection Clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment guarantee the right of same-sex couples to marry. I believe this ruling was erroneous. As the dissent stated, “our Constitution does not enact any one theory of marriage. The people of a State are free to expand marriage to include same-sex couples, or to retain the historic definition” of marriage between one man and one woman. Hodges, 135 S.Ct. at 2611."
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Did not answer
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that his answer should have been. "In Arizona, I support the following: 1. Finishing the current criminal and civil investigations pending at the Attorney General’s Office. These investigations must be completed swiftly and fairly, and any potential charges filed must be based solely on the evidence. 2. Defend HB2492, a carefully crafted statute that affirms Arizona’s existing law requiring proof of citizenship for state elections. Requiring proof of citizenship to vote is a neutral, reasonable, non-discriminatory restriction that operates to exclude one group: non-citizens. This is a minimal burden at best. 3. Diligently prosecute ballot harvesting in Arizona. 4. If necessary, a court order compelling the Secretary of State to perform her mandatory, statutory duty to clean up the voter rolls, e.g., remove those who have passed away or have moved out of state."

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
Did not answer
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGuide.com that his answer should have been, " As Attorney General, I do not enact legislation. However, I will seek support from legislators to fund sheriffs and local police to enforce a No Trespassing Zone to protect the lives and property of Arizonans in border communities. I also intend to enhance the Election Integrity Unit with a Rapid Response Team and if I am unable to prudently reallocate resources from other programs within the office, I will seek additional funding to ensure that future elections are secure."

2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Did not answer
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGide.com that his answer should have been, " I believe in the right of citizens to bear arms for self-defense and do not support restrictions that infringe on the rights of law-abiding citizens to protect themselves. Restrictions on gun ownership will only be obeyed by law-abiding citizens, not criminals. I support restricting the rights of convicted violent criminals to possess firearms. Although I agree that mental health issues may be considered, I am concerned about red flag laws and the potential for them to be abused by citizens who simply disagree with another’s behavior."
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
