QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Under any circumstances of course. Freedom of choice with options is an American value. There should be no law regarding abortions on the books at any level of government. It should be a personal choice and the state should be separated from this debate.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Neutral
The less the state is involved the better in almost all circumstances. Drugs used are already tested and monitored for safety.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Agree
Private groups can fund their own abortion agendas including paying for them. Again, the state should have no dog in that fight. It should remain neutral leaving it up to the individual and the medical community for the process by which the procedure is done. The US needs to preserve the individual choices people make giving them the freedom to do so.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Agree
This is humane and fair.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Agree
Eminent domain is an evil practice.
What is your position on the minimum wage?
There shouldn't be one but along with that the government should allow the ability for labor to organize easier in its place. The labor union can bargain for its own minimum wages if the marketplace so desires.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
Public monies shouldn't be "invested" and the question is ambiguous. The money is spent on things like road, rail, and utility. The money spent should be generic, not specific and the government should spend far less frivolously on unproductive projects.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
None but its tax exempt status should be removed if it engages in political activity.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Agree
If you operate a business in the public marketplace it should serve the public regardless of its political beliefs as businesses aren't people. People can have those opinions but businesses and the operation therefore should remain neutral. A business can't have "beliefs", people can and the two are separate.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
D, taxpayer funded healthcare should be de-funded over the next five generations. These are all government Ponzi schemes propped up by the governments ability to print money. In theory not for profit and volunteer organizations would step in to fill the gap. Education also plays a role here. People need to be educated far better which also includes caring for their own bodies. The only thing I'd support is a "disaster insurance fund" for extreme illnesses like cancers, strokes, heat attacks, et
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
None. Schools should be broken up and decentralized with a voucher system. The marketplace of education should decide which institutions thrive and provide excellent education.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Neutral
It is only a threat in people's mind because that's the narrative they're fed. The narrative exists because the US is a warmongering Empire that needs enemies, it creates and manufactures enemies that include Russians, Chinese, Iran, Venezuela, etc, etc. Private company's through their own greed allow the Chinese to steal their technology. They shot themselves in the foot. Voters are tricked into believing boogieman propaganda about enemies.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
No, it is not important. It is propaganda to suggest that it is important. It only serves strategic military value in the middle east for proxy actions. The US should remain neutral, collapse its empire and 800+ foreign military bases in the world into near zero and participate in the world not as a global bully as it does now but as a good nation state citizen in the world. The US is drunk on Empire, its power, greed and military dominance. Its gross.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Neutral
The southern border has always and I mean ALWAYS been leaky, sometimes intentionally by your own government. Go read the history. This issue once again is being used to generate fear and hate for political utility. We should document these individuals and increase the ability for people to come and go cross border. They would, as they always do, boost economic development, not kill it. You're being lied to with any other opinion than this.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Agree
This is the correct perspective. IF government is going to pay for school, and thus the tax payer, the money should be given to each student / parent(s) in the form of a voucher that they can use in the marketplace including educating their own children and getting paid to do so. The home schooled should be tested the same as everyone else to determine their progress as to also avoid fraud. The marketplace is the best place for these funds.
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Neutral
I don't know what this question is asking really. It seems leading. Doesn't it go without saying that most people want to protect children from abuse of any kind? Are they the "most vulnerable"? No, probably not. The disabled of any age might be the most vulnerable. Children are empty vessels who's biggest vulnerability is to be indoctrinated rather than taught logic, reason and the ability for them to learn themselves independent of authoritative influence.
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Agree
That's what a parent does. This is another weird question and it should go without saying parents have rights for their minor children. It's always been this way.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Disagree
Transition services should be paid by those who wish to transition. Again, the state should have no say in this activity. It's between the individual and the course they choose in life. It's their pursuit of happiness and not anyone else's.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Disagree
Another absurd leading question. Nobody can prove God, even the church and the idea of marriage pre-dates Christianity. In a free society you can believe in whatever you want, God has nothing to do with anything. Marriage should be between individuals and if they want the church involved, great! If not, great! If you want to have multiple wives, husbands, man / man, woman / woman, whatever, more power to you as long as they are consenting adults.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Atheist with a bachelors in religious education from a protestant institution in Michigan. I'm well aware of what the religious community thinks and how they are propagandized from the pulpits / lecterns within this piece of American culture. The church and state should remain separate regardless of what the church thinks about this. Imagine if a religion took over the government you didn't agree with? That would be a personal disaster for you and your preferred sect. As long as the church and state are separate it will protect your freedom to practice and proselytize however you want. I value the individual to the highest degree. Nobody knows their interests better than you and I value your ability to make your own choices in life.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Neutral
Photo id is somewhat absurd because of the archaic system we have. We should move to an encrypted id that authenticates you based on a hash challenge which would also be convenient allowing voting from the comfort of your own home over the Internet. I'm surprised the politicians aren't making you dip your thumb in purple ink. If you vote old school in person, then certainly, a photo id is reasonable.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Strongly Disagree
The electoral college protects states with a minority population. We should go back to the old way senators were selected by the legislatures. Senators are there to protect states interests, not individuals. That part of the 17th amendment should go and we revert back to the old way it was done. The 17th amendment broke crucial processes of the supposed Republic we live in.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Not materially. Many people will tell you racism is worse than it is and that probably depends on where you live. Class is the real issue not race.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Neutral
CRT isn't necessarily wrong historically. It think it's more of a class issue than race.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Agree
I mostly agree. This is a difficult subject as we're creating a third type of person requiring separate facilities. The burden is one of infrastructure accommodation. The marketplace is sorting this out by making bathrooms gender neutral in many places. Single room bathrooms with door locks might as well be gender neutral. I don't think it would take much effort to accommodate the transgender community. Oddly, isn't it up to the "sorority house" to pick its members? That's up to them.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
I can't be hemmed into selecting one of these letters. I take these issues on a case by case basis. For example, should we have stricter environmental laws on businesses that pollute like Graphic Packaging in Kalamazoo, MI? I think that's reasonable. That has nothing to do with climate change, it's just reasonable and neighborly since that pollution affects the neighborhood it resides in. Pollution might be the greatest challenge we face as a nation.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear of course. There's no question. The "clean energy" nonsense is made up by the "green industrial capitalist" who wants to sell you expensive inefficient forms of energy at a premium. It's a scam. Nuclear energy is the 21st century answer.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To provide base rails for civilized society to move on. Roads, infrastructure and utility. MINIMAL government providing basics for society to use. Anything else is theft or picking winners and losers that distort the market and market forces.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
I am fiscally conservative and socially liberal. When I say socially liberal I do not mean a program and subsidy for anything and everything. I mean protecting the rights of individuals to live their lives free from oppressive government in their religion, relationships, and personal activity.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Neutral
Police have far too high of a budget, they're militarized and digitized. That needs to go. The state has built an internal military that exists to mainly extract wealth from the poor under the guise of "public safety" and have inadvertently created a two tier justice system. When people think of policing they think blue collar crime totally forgetting that white collar crime can be far worse and far more abusive.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
None. According to the constitution you can own guns in the context of a well regulated militia. Guns and gun safety should be an educational issue and taught in schools. That might seem radical but education is the key to solving most problems. Most people against guns don't know anything about them. I do not personally own a firearm but think we need to preserve the right to own one or more.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
I think that's acceptable and reasonable. Education and training again is the key. I'm not suggesting that teachers should all be trained to be police officers or paramilitary but if they want to carry one they should have that option. Within the context of my prior statement, it should be part of school curriculum.
