RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
It is a tragedy every time a child is aborted, but this is a complex issue because sometimes the mother's health is at risk, and I am strongly opposed to government regulations. I hope and pray that women will only get abortions for medical reasons, and I will work to make adoptions smoother and simpler for women, in order to reduce the number of abortions. The field of medicine evolves, and the government should not be making medical decisions for women. Because of this I think North Carolinians should have unrestricted access to abortions prior to 24 weeks, but not after. The current regulatory framework causes ultrasounds to be done prior to 20 weeks and often prior to complete heart development. Standard medical care should not be a reaction to government regulations. Changing unrestricted access from 20 to 24 weeks should address the issue.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
If Roe v. Wade is overturned by the US Supreme Court, how far are you willing to go to roll back North Carolina's statutory abortion law that allows abortion up to 20 weeks?
It was, I am not, see question above.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Neutral
These laws can be complex. It has to be clear that the person dying really did consent and had the capacity to do so.
Would you support a limitation on chemical abortion that protects women from taking abortion pills without the care and supervision of a qualified physician?
No
ECONOMY
The government should do more to close the gap between the working class and the wealthy.
Strongly Disagree
The government is horribly inefficient and often the least effective way to help anyone. All tax dollars are taken through coercion from hard working people that are better equipped to help each other.
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I am for any reduction in taxes and generally simplifying everything.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Only when they are violating the rights of others.
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
Complete separation.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
The cost of healthcare is out of control. I am a data driven person and the in order to measure costs we first need price transparency. Any hospital that receives any state funding should be required to have price transparency. When you go to the store prices are posted prior to purchase and it should be the same with hospitals. Only when we have a functional free market can we have reasonable analysis to determine how to best fund healthcare.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
None
EDUCATION
States should allow parents to use the Opportunity Scholarship Program to fund private school for their children.
Strongly Agree
In what situations does a parent not have the right to know what their child is being taught in public school?
There needs to be more transparency in schools. Lessons and library catalogs should be made available to parents.
When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?
Parents who are physically aggressive will meet the criteria for arrest. I know of no case where this has ever occured.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Neutral
As long as you need a license to fish or drive a car, it is reasonable that one would also be needed to vote.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
People who have been released from prison should immediately have their voting rights restored.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Disagree
