QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Disagree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I don't feel comfortable, as a man, not having my stance advised by women and health care professionals. Abortion should be allowed under circumstances of rape, incest, and ensuring the survival of the mother. In addition, America has to decide if we are going to support our children with healthcare, education, and opportunities as they grow up. It's a difficult subject, because abortion kills more African American babies than heart disease, diabetes, and gun crime combined.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Agree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

By preventing the Social Security trust from being accessible to our government as a stop gap for budget shortfalls.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I wouldn't reduce government spending to balance the budget-I'd ensure that businesses and wealthy people pay their fair share in taxes. One of the most recent examples is that a trillion dollar company like Amazon paid $0 in federal taxes. When large corporations don't pay their fair share in taxes, it puts the burden on individuals, all while allowing corporations to use the public infrastructure and resources that our tax dollars pay for.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

Student loans should be converted into treasury bonds or treasury notes. This allows America to be the issuer of student debt, and also the servicer of that debt. It gives the American people the chance to invest in the future and prosperity of all Americans, by investing in higher education. An economy burdened by debt is an unproductive economy, and our students have shouldered the burden of education without economic prospects to pay the debt back.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Neutral

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Did not answer

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Agree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

By showing what happens to people when they don't have health care. By utilizing anecdotes and a marketing campaign that highlights the losses and hardships people face when they have to put a loved one in convalescent care, when a loved one receives an amputation, or gets diagnosed with cancer. We have to show the real impact of what happens when you don't have health care, and how you can be ruined financially if you don't have health insurance.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Disagree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Islam is the dominant religion in that region, and the United States should limit its intervention in the affairs of countries in the Middle East. We've risked thousands of lives and spent billions fighting terrorism on foreign soil. Various countries in the Middle East have made it clear that the United States is a destabilizing force whenever we make a presence. In addition, we should partner up with the host nations in the Middle East in a manner that does not entangle us in forever wars.

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Disagree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Disagree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Did not answer

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Agree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Neutral

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Neutral

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and that He intercedes on my behalf. My faith is the major driving force for my actions, and is what motivates and inspires me.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Moderate

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I'm an independent and I don't subscribe to those labels because they are too limiting. I'm very conservative on foreign policy in that we should have an America first attitude, yet help our international partners when they ask within reason. In social matters, I'm very liberal because I believe the rights of expression and association need to be protected, and as our country evolves, so should our protection of those rights and accommodation of differing views and perspectives. In economics, I believe that wealth and opportunity should not be concentrated in the hands and control of a few. We should expanding resources for entrepreneurs and small businesses. That businesses should be allowed to fail when they make bad decisions, just like we allow the average American citizen to fail.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am an authentic candidate, who has been a community justice advocate for the past 10 years. I put the mission and people first, which is something I learned while serving as the US Navy/Department of Defense's youngest ever weapon systems engineer. I started college at 10 years, and began college full time at 14, where I graduated with my B.S. in Mechanical Engineer at age 19. I'm also an attorney.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Did not answer

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Agree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Agree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Agree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Agree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Increased resources and training for disaster preparedness and disaster relief. Demilitarization of police bill to also include strict requirements of the use of no-knock raids, and the removal of the reasonably prudent police officer standard. Reducing juvenile incarceration.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes, racism is a threat to domestic security because racism creates inequities, inequities create imbalances, and imbalances create instability in our dynamic socioeconomic and sociopolitical environment.
