QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

It is the woman who is getting the abortion: if she is over the age of 18 & of sound mind and body, it would be her choice; although I would be in favor of her having the child and at the very least putting her/him up for adoption, but, like I said: it is no one's decision but hers.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Disagree

The problem there, is, as always, money, & because we, as usual, already know, that all of these "branches" of government "buy" or "donate" as they will, many with "unlimited funds," the "playing field" must (should be) as "equal" as it can be (made). You cannot pick & choose, in a democracy, who gets What & how much? Ah... um... we still live in a democracy, do we not?

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Neutral

People are committing suicide left & right anyway, in these trying times; so why not give them at least a "better" death than that? After all, suicide is a coward's way out. Seems like there are too many cowards around today, huh?

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

"Tax the rich to feed the poor." Bill Clinton, (more or less) did that and it worked to the point that he had surpluses. Why should you NOT do something that has already been proven to work?

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

How many times do I have to explain this? Bill Clinton has done it, Hillary Clinton would have done it but, of course, we(avowedly WE (not the poor people) the rich people voted in Donald Trump as the POTUS, using tons of green paper with large numbers on them. Vote democratic. Do you actually think we are living in a democracy? Because we are not; we are living in a Capitalist society which gets worse by the second; as I have explained already I would reduce any taxes on the poor and raise them on the rich, especially the super-wealthy billionaires! And, as I have mentioned Bill Clinton has already done it, so we have a perfect plan: copy Bill Clinton's tactics, after all he had surpluses The economic policies of Bill Clinton's administration referred to by some as Clintonomics (a portmanteau of "Clinton" and "economics"), encapsulates the economic policies of United States President Bill Clinton that were implemented during his presidency, which lasted from January 1993 to January 2001. President Clinton oversaw a healthy economy during his tenure. The U.S. had strong economic growth (around 4% annually) and record job creation (22.7 million). He raised taxes on higher income taxpayers early in his first term and cut defense spending and welfare, which contributed to a rise in revenue and decline in spending relative to the size of the economy. These factors helped bring the United States' federal budget into surplus from fiscal years 1998 to 2001, the only surplus years since 1969. Debt held by the public, a primary measure of the national debt, fell relative to GDP throughout his two terms, from 47.8% in 1993 to 31.4% in 2001.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Agree

If you want a just, fair & equal society, as all politicians promise but none ever actually deliver, you need to invest in what American families need to get a decent-paying job that will afford them a decent life to look forward to and the ability to raise a family and be able to afford to feed themselves and your family, as well as enjoy your days off from working. Everyone, not just a certain privileged few. We are, ever, with Donald Trump as P.O.T.U.S. just "helping" him get wealthier.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

We still do have a Constitution and the very 1st Amendment protects us from anything trying to skewer or change our fundamental beliefs. But, if you MUST provide "services," build a governmental group, also under governmental orders and also "working" on the government's "payroll'" pay them $100 an hour and see what happens?

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Unless the churches are killing or physically harming people there should be no circumstances that would require the closing of any piece of real estate where human beings are preaching the gospel! And the First Amendment should also cover this but, in case it does not, remember this: "For what shall it suffer a man if he gains the whole world but suffers the loss of his soul? ---Jesus Christ, in Matthew 16:26 Show this biblical quote to the sitting P.O.T.U.S. at this (that) time in history, if and when it ever comes up.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

A IS PERFECT; Let's get going? We should have passed this legislation long, long ago. If I get in as the State House representative, the first thing I will do is begin getting enough petitions signed to have Universal Health Care for all of Hernando County and, from there we can go for Universal Health Care for the entire State of Florida. After all, if 5 States already have Universal Health Care (Hawaii, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey and California) why shouldn't Florida? I will get Universal Health Care for my district, if I can ever figure out the redistricting the republicans have done to District, 53 knowing if the citizen-voters now in District 53 are mainly republican or democrat, as they have already heavily "transferred large sections of "registered republicans" into what they now consider a "packed" republican District as is reportedly now also through many districts in Florida which they will deny, just as my Republican opponent Jeff Holcomb will deny knowing that District 53 has been "tampered" with as he and his entire caucus are against Universal Health Care just as they are beholden to the pharmaceutical industry, an industry which gives millions of dollars to politicians who help "push their pills." Of course this is hard to prove, as while Big Pharma’s clout in Washington is well-documented, there is, as yet, no known nationwide database of the drug industry’s contributions to state legislative elections. In fact none has even ever been assembled, in part because state transparency laws vary widely and all of the U.S. A.'s 50 states maintain separate disclosure databases. Why don't they? Well, ask my republican opponent Jeff Holcomb, whom I'm sure will not have an answer for any of his "donations." Many people can't even afford to see a doctor much less pay the high prices of the pills they need and I have spoken many times, go to my website: laufenberg2022.com and scroll down to Healthcare where you can read the story titled Who or What Killed Josh Wilkerson, a story of a man who was someone with diabetes and couldn't afford to pay for his insulin, so he went to Walmart and bought a cheaper brand. Ten hours later he was dead; it hadn't been enough insulin. Read the story, it is absolutely true.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Covid-19 and/or Monkey-pox, etc. or any other diseases that can be proven to save lives, as in the many pandemics the World is presently going through and if the disease endangers other students in school or anybody else they should be given to whoever asks for them.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

The "threat" cannot be "eradicated" until a group of Muslims, or anyone else, performs uncalled-for violence to others for no valid reasons. We are for peace and must always work (legally) towards peace and love to everyone, no matter what religion they "practice," unless it illegally endangers others.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Neutral

Only if this does not lead to war. Any divestment of property or sanctions can lead to bloodshed. We, Christians, must work towards peace, peace & more peace. We can only do this through God, Jesus Christ made us a promise and He never breaks a promise!

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Neutral

We must respond to any threats of war that falsely preaches hatred with love and peace. We are all immigrants, we are all human beings and we must strive for only one goal: PEACE, through love and stop any talk of war before it starts. We have enough nuclear weapons to blow up this world into a place where the only "lucky" ones will be the dead!

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

As the truth is that everyone who is truly not free, as so many immigrated to the U.S.A. at the turn of the 19th century were allowed to immigrate and, cleared of any criminal acts, they, and their families, should now be allowed the same treatment as we had, to immigrate.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Disagree

Again, we are discriminating and putting poor people in much shabbier buildings, serving them cheaper food, books that teach fictions and too much pressure on the children (students). We must make schools FAIR again. These are our children; many of them find "peace" only during their school hours, so, please, let's not take that away from them.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

True Christians are people who truly love God. For Christ's resurrection and for truth over lies, love over hate and peace over wars. God is our only "chance," and we well realize it and must always try our best to speak it. Being a true Christian and not a hypocrite is the hardest thing to do in this God-forsaken world but it can be done and we know it for we have seen it done, right before our very eyes. Martin Luther King Jr. did it but unfortunately was assassinated in 1968 at age 39.

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Agree

Sadly enough, this particular group of people, have been and still are, discriminated against and so, as Christians, we must be against discrimination of any kind and allow them their God-given rights at all times.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Agree

No government may have but people's personal lives, as well as what they do in their private life, are protected under our constitution's 14th Amendment, whether you agree or not.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Agree

This theory is true to the extent that the U.S.A. has many racist states and uneven laws that are so obviously racist. No children, none, are racist, unless or until they are "taught so either by or because of their friends, relatives, families or friendships. White fathers and mothers can make their children racist just by being so (racist) themselves, they can also judge themselves "not racist" even though they are to the extent that all their "friends" are racists. Their "laws" must go.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian, and a Baptist but I didn't get there easily. I was, as a young boy, a Presbyterian but only because I was baptized in a Presbyterian Church at 1 year old. My father was a Catholic but my mother was Presbyterian and so he became a Presbyterian. He was a military lifer and so we travelled extensively because he was stationed and re-stationed for much of his 40-year long career. My dad was an honest man who was more agreeable talking about baseball than religion, which he didn't speak about much and, as he worked for the NSA, a government agency, he never spoke about anything to do with his job. All we, my brother and sister and I knew was that he "worked for the government." But, I noticed quickly that he never spoke against any POTUS and, in fact, when Dick Nixon was the POTUS he, my dad, was suddenly a republican, just as he had been a democrat when JFK was in office. very confusing. Neither my mother or my father was very big on religious beliefs and neither spoke about it, or Jesus or God. My father had been a Catholic and when I asked him about Jesus, one Sunday after I had been in Sunday school, he just waved it away, saying he didn't have "time" to speak of it. We were at the local Presbyterian Church, in Riverdale, Maryland, just outside of the D.C. line and just across the street from the neighborhood football field, basketball court and baseball field, where we always went to play, especially on Sundays, after church. We would spend a lot of time there but the few times either my mother or father spoke about religion, I got the feeling they believed in God & Jesus Christ but they never wanted to: "talk about it." My grandmother actually was my outlet for my beliefs and values. She spoke of god often, whenever I saw her but we lived in Hyattsville Maryland, just outside of Washington, D.C. and my Gramma lived in New York. Whenever we visited them, I can still remember, she hugged and kissed me quite a lot, especially considering my parents almost never did. My grandmother was special to me. She taught me how to get on my knees and pray to god anytime, which has always stayed with me. My grandfather was from England and my grandmother was Scotch/Irish but they met and married in New York. I believe we should all worship God in our own way and our religions are nobody's business if we wish them to be. That is our right: to worship any god, in any way we choose, alone, in a church of our choice, with or without friends or family, and wherever and whenever we choose. We should, if only we all could, treat each other equally and follow the New Testament as close as we can; as MLK Jr. did. Remember what I said; we got our rights: If MLK Jr. is not a name you tolerate in the way I used it, well, then, we got an argument. Well, actually, let's make it a debate. See you then & may the Lords' grace, mercy and love be with us all in these trying times.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Agree

I say this, actually I'll let FDR speak here for me: "Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressmen and government officials but the voters of this country.---Franklin Delano Roosevelt

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I will let MJK Jr. speak for me: "Wherever these laws have been passed, wages are lower, job opportunities are fewer and there are no civil rights. We do not intend to let them do this to us. We demand this fraud be stopped. Our weapon is our vote." ----Martin Luther King, Jr. speaking about right-to-work laws in 1961.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is, obviously, more than just a threat to security. Racism is a threat to black people's lives, Hispanics' lives and almost any other person in this country, or any other country, which has ignorant, aggressive and "insane" people who will, and have, actually shot and killed many people for no other reason than the color of their skin. And, as Donald Trump is seeking to run and (re) win the presidency of the United States in order to then turn it into an autocracy, I say there is a threat this country has never seen the likes of before. I will quote Bertrand Russell: "The technique of acquiring dictatorship over what has been a democracy ... always involves the same mixture of bribery, propaganda, and violence." And, I will quote George Orwell: "If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear. Today, there are far too many people getting killed, far too many by their own hand, usually with a gun in it, and far too many are being killed by a maniac with an AK-47. Another quote deserved here, also by Bertrand Russell, is this: "Men are born ignorant & not stupid They are made stupid by their education." The biggest threat we have is Donald Trump and his "belief" that he become a dictator for life. This is obvious by the way he talks and it must never happen or we will, surely, all perish.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Agree

Reparations is nothing but money, something we know that is "the root of all evil." We need to obliterate Capitalism. We must stop saying we are a democratic State when we know it is a Capitalistic country that literally "fawns" over "Wealthy people," as Bertrand Russell said are men born ignorant not stupid. They are made stupid by education. Education made by people (teachers) who have been taught by books written by people for money.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

B

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Disagree

Money is absolutely, in this case, the root of all evil.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To do as the disciples did for God, to teach the gospel, that's what Jesus was here for, remember him?

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Liberal

We need peace, love and no more wars. As far as money goes: "trade with all countries as you would trade with yourselves." Use no money, use respect: give them what they need and accept from them what you need.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

https://laufenberg2022.com/ https://knowyc.com/keith-g-laufenberg/ https://knowyc.com/keith-g-laufenberg/

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

My legislative priorities are this: to get Universal Health Care immediately by use of petitions, to speak only the truth and to get rid of Capitalism and return anything resembling democracy to this country.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Disagree

You actually want the police to police themselves? Use the 10 commandments.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Agree

Find Frank Serpico, he lives here, somewhere in Florida, maybe he can show you the way.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Give them all the guns they want but never allow anyone to buy bullets. Otherwise, ban all guns.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Neutral

I agree with that statement but, go further and ban all guns or, as I said above, get rid of all the ammunition.
