QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Abortion should be allowed to up the point of viability which is generally 22 weeks.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Disagree

Mifipristone has been researched and tested for decades and can be taken without the supervision of a doctor. Any restrictions on the use other than the standard restriction other medications are required to meet should not be allowed for chemical abortion drugs.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Disagree

Reprocuctive health care should be covered by insurance. Women should have the right to seek medicale care without having to pay a high cost.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Agree

I support this with legal guidelines.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

None. Individuals that represent a church can be prosectuted for crimes committed, but the church as an instituion should not be closed by the government because of the criminal activity of leaders or members of the church.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Agree

Discrimination should never be tolerated.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

China does have designs on expanding their economic and military power to other parts of the globe, but I also believe they would be very willing to be a partner in a thriving economy. China could be an ally if the US tries to work with them peacefully.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

The relationship is important because they are one of our strongest allies in the Middle East. But their current leadership has no desire to secure peace, and only wants to demonstrate power.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

Medicare should be offered to all US citizens along with an option to add private healthcare. Our country must provide a way for everyone to have access to quality healthcare. Until we have a way for everyone to pay a reasonable price for that healthcare, we will not have equity. Healthcare for all is a necessity.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Schools must require vaccinations, and that includes all schools, public and private. It is necessary to protect children and the rest of the Public from serious health issues.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

The current Federal minimum wage should be $15 per hour. Additionally, legislation should create a law that allows the minimun wage to raise at regular intervals based on the rate of economic growth.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

Investing in public monies should be determined by the political body that has conttol of that money. There should be limits or restrictions for investing in immoral, illegal, or unethical funds. Politics should not be a part of the decision in where money is invested.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Agree

I believe in a robust policy to allow immigration. Our southern border control should be handeled better if not just for humanitarian reasons. Immigrants need to have a path to become citizens of the US, and a better way to come in to the country seeking assylum.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Disagree

Indiana's Constitution allows for a "free" public education up to the age of 22. Nothing in the constitution says that the state must fund Private schools. The very idea that tax money pays for religious education goes against everything in our Federal Constitution and the Sate Constitution. Vouchers were created to destroy public schools, end Teacher Unions, and remove the responsibility of education children from the state and placing it on the Parent.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Agree

I do not agree with "defunding" police, but I do feel that police should be taking part in more of a community based policing policy. Police should have partners in community services to help them deal with people that have mental health needs.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Gun owners should be required to register their guns.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

No

Abosolutely no guns in the school for anyone, but particularly for teachers! We need better gun safety laws, not guns in schools! I have taught in public schools for 32 years. Guns in schools will leads to children dying.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

I have never ben penalized for sexual misconduct.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The purpose of government is to provide liberty, justice and pursuit of happiness for all.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Lean Liberal

I would describe myself as between lean liberal and liberal. I have a slight libertarian streak that believes government interferes too much in individual freedoms. But I believe that government should work collectively with every citizen to provide the best government for everyone.

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Neutral

I agree that children must be protected from abuse. Gender ideology is not abuse. Grooming as in pedophiles? Of course that is illegal, and should stay that way. But grooming as a phrase used by people that want to demean public shools and teachers, that does not exist.

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Agree

Parents always have the right to make decisions for their minor children, unless the parent demonstrates neglect or abuse.

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Neutral

Tax based healthcare should never be denied to someone who needs it. No law should be created to take the ability away from a physician to provide the best care to their patient.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Disagree

Government cannot dictate who people can love.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Mostly agnostic.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Neutral

Every voter may not be able to get photo ID. If there are other forms of ID, that should be excepted.

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Neutral

I believe Presidential elections should be determined by popular vote. I am not familiar enough with the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact to say that states should join that movement. I do believe the Electoral College should be abolished.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is a threat to everything in the US. Racism is a form of hate that interferes with making good decisions, doing what is best for the situation and us just plain hate. It cannot be tolerated.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Neutral

CRT is a Theory. As a theory, the idea is based on valid data. An example of instutional racism is housing. Recently a study of home loan practices was done in Indianapolis. The study showed that properties that had Black owners were valued for less than white owners. I feel that it is important for our educational system to examine and try to understand institutional racism.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Disagree

A person that has transitioned from one gender to another can live their life as the transgendered person they have become. The govenment has no business interfering in their lives.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

Climate Change is real and requires urgent policy attention. The Federal and State governments are best suited for implementing laws and regulations that can slow down climate change and mitigate some of the damage that has occured.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Solar will become the next "oil" for energy.
