QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Disagree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Disagree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Within the first term of pregnancy if the child will not be provided for or cared for. Also in instances of rape or incest, but in the first trimester of the pregnancy.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Eliminate all pensions and benefits for Senators, Congresspeople and Presidents after they leave office. Cut the growth rate of government spending to zero for all discretionary items. Eliminate all earmarks - if the expense isn't part of the regular budget it shouldn't be included in new bills. Eliminate Medicare and Medicaid. Publicize all government spending as transparency will automatically reduce spending. Build a US-Mexico border wall. Drug liberalization
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Disagree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
That as Americans we have the fundamental freedom to practice any faith or to have no faith and that religion should not be a driving force behind the establishment of laws.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I would separate healthcare from the government and abolish Medicare and Medicaid, which are socialist programs. I believe that a free-market healthcare system free of government regulation, control and management is the path to healthcare reform and adequate, affordable and accessible policies for all.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Anyone who is peaceful and seeking a better life and who does so legally.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Agree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian and have a deep belief in God. I was raised in a Methodist church and while I have attended churches as an adult I do not currently have a church that I call home. I teach my children bible lessons and I read daily devotions. I have had several negative experiences with organized religion and have been turned off by hypocritical acts by members of the congregations that I have affiliated with, so I choose to "home church".
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Somewhat Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I believe in the free market economy, all of our civil liberties, less government, individualism, individual rights, spontaneous order, the rule of law, the virtue of production, natural harmony of interests and peace.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I have a bachelor of science in engineering, so I am a logically minded person. I am a mother, so I am patient. I am a small business owner, so I understand sacrifice and compromise.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I believe that we need to get back to the basics. Simplify government as it was intended. Focus on family and mental health. Get off of social media. I believe that all Americans have a duty to contribute to the honest and open conversations required to effect meaningful change.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I believe that every person has the right to arm themselves and would not restrict the second amendment. I do not believe that banning guns would curb violence or deaths, actually quite the opposite because our criminals would still find ways to arm themselves. I also believe in our right to defend ourselves against our government should that ever be a necessity.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Strongly Agree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
1 - I would support and help develop legislation to prohibit federal funds from supporting schools that are not teaching our American History as a whole. I believe that it is imperative for us to pass down all the facts of our nation's history in order for us to be a viable civilization for years to come. 2 - I would support and help develop legislation that focuses on natural capitalism. I believe that our natural resources are being depleted at an unsustainable pace and that much of what is being produced world-wide is a waste of these resources and irreparably harming our earth. The idea behind natural capitalism is that we can increase our resource productivity thereby allowing businesses to thrive while fully utilizing the resources that are harvested and shifting to zero waste. 3 - I would support drug liberalization legislation as I believe that the economic and social cost of drug criminalization is too great.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
From my perspective, no, but racial violence is. I am a white Italian American woman. My paternal grandparents were bigots, as were/are many in their generation. I'm proud to say that as a family we have rejected their small minded perspectives. I've talked to my black friends about their experiences and perspectives, as I think we all should do. As a middle-aged woman in a predominantly man's field I've been subjected to an abysmal amount of sexual harassments. I believe that we are all persecuted in ways, but it is how we react that is important. I am more than supportive of an open, honest conversation about racism and I support peaceful protesting. As with any issue, we need to address it and come up with constructive solutions. Destruction and violence is unproductive to effect any meaningful change.
