QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Under current law, abortion is legal. Therefore, I personally cannot prohibit a woman from getting an abortion. My personal opinion is that life begins as inception and should be protected. And, if elected, I will do all I can to referse the government's involvement in medical decisions, especially in the funding of medical procedures that are not critical to the patient's welfare and life. I believe that an abortion is a medical procedure and should be left totally up to the discretion of a woman and her physician. I also believe that the government should not be in the business of providing health care which then gives the government authority to intervene in medical decisions of all kinds.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Most government waste can be found in the duplication of efforts by numerous departments of the same government. I promise to ferret out those duplicated efforts and then start defunding the duplicates. The worst offenders are in the State Department of Education, an entity of which I am familiar. I also want to investigate the state budget to see where other duplication occurs.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Simple: "Separation of church and state" guarantees religious freedom and prohibits government from getting involved in deciding what religious beliefs are required of the people. The state is never allowed to infringe upon religious practices (within reason: i.e., starting a "holy war" or sacrificing humans). That also means that the government can never force religious beliefs and practicies onto the people. This is guaranteed by the first amendment to the Constitution. But, religious people have a right to express their opinions (guaranteed by the second amendment) within the context of government activities and laws.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I firmly believe that the reason health care is so expensive today is because the government got involved in regulating health care costs through Medicare then later Medicaid. The government decided that healthcare was the responsibility of the government by determining just what hospitals and doctors could charge. We need to get the US Government out of the medical field entirely and let the free market system work as it should. I believe that prices will fall dramatically once government is taken out of the equation.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Anyone desiring to come to the USA should be only those who are willing to follow the required proceedures, willing to learn the language, and willing to apply for citizenship should be allowed. Since this works for 95% of all of the other countries in the world, it can work for the USA as well.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am an ordained baptist minister who has served for twenty-one years as a US Army chaplain. I believe that God is one and manifests His presence as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and that we can know Him personally through His Words in Scripture. I believe that Jesus of Nazareth was and continues to be the Son of God, "God with us." He died for our sins and rose on the third day for our sanctification and that He will return to take His own to be forever with Him.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I am an ordained minister in the Southern Baptist Convention and a member of a local Southern Baptist Church in West Palm Beach. I have made my stands public on my campaign website.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
1. I spent twenty-eight years as an army officer in the reserves learning and exercising leadership skills vital for success in life. 2. I served as the chair of several college departments as a professor and administrator. 3. I have organized and managed nearly forty major theatrical productions requiring the oversight of hundreds of individuals while teaching theatrical arts in college and high school. 4. I hold six university & seminary degrees with two doctorates. 5. I managed the faith related activities at an army base while on active duty during Desert Shield/Storm (1990-91). 6. I served as pastor of two churches (Ohio & Arkansas). 7. I served on the Board of Directors for the Woodbridge Lakes Homeowners Association for five years and served as president for three.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am not a professional politician nor will I ever be. I am currently a retired teacher and retired military officer. I don't need this job for the money. I have been a constitutionalist and scholar of the original intent of the framers of our government and a firm believer in government BY the people, not professional politicians.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
No
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The best way to preserve public safety is to teach gun safety in schools and in the homes while teaching respect for authorities and government. We must return to teaching Judeo-Christian morality and ethics instead of Marxism and Globalism. With respect for each other and for the authorities in power, people can live peaceful and prosperous lives.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
1. I would like to see school choices funded by the local school taxes to benefit all citizens, not just the most affluent. If public education is to truly be public, it should include more than simply the limited choices now being offered by most school districts. 2. I want to see more help for the homeless, especially homeless veterans. I wold like to see a greater effort made to reaching the homeless and helping them to transition into more productive lives or offered care where that is needed. 3. I believe that local police and sheriff departments can be broadened and strengthened through better training and the use of techniques other than military-style enforcement.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I have lived in a variety of settings from the seemingly peaceful rural areas to small towns, to suburbia, to heavily urban areas. I currently live in an area that is 70% minorities and 30% white "privilege." Everyone seems to be getting along quite well. The only racial striff I have encountered was in 1968 following Martin Luther King's assassination. Watching what has been happening currently in the USA, it appears to me that the so-called racism is being fomented by outside interests. I believe that racism is not a threat to domestic security, but the intentional funding of riots in the name of racism is a serious threat to domestic security. The people behind these activities should be hunted down and prosecuted by Homeland Security. They are the ones responsible for the problems we face.
