QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
When the life of the mother is at risk.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I would liketo see organizations like Planned Parenthood defunded.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Having studied American Heritage for many years, I am a firm believer that the origin of that statement was made by Thomas Jefferson to assure the Danbury Baptists that the government that was being formed would NOT create a national church/religion. The "wall of protection" was to keep government out of the church, not the other way around.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Affordable Health care can be obtained by allowing companies to compete, cross state lines, and remove mandates for required coverages. For those who cannot afford any type of coverage, county health care districts along with medicare/medicade.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Any person seeking to come to the U.S. has a right to do just that. If it is done legally. My great-grandmother was a Polish immigrant and I'm thankful the country welcomed her. But she came here legally with proper paperwork.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Evangelical Christian/Biblical World View - born again since age 11. Strong belief that our country was founded on Judeo/Christian values and that our Founders were men of faith.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
As a Christian, I do hold very conservative social views. When it comes to matters of economics, immigration and foreign policy, I remain conservative but realize that these issues require compromise. My Biblical values cannot be compromised.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I've served as a pastor's wife for 40 years. Our ministry is Interdenominational which has prepared me for working across the aisle. We also have had a school since 1980 and I have taught, been Principal and School Administrator. I've seen firsthand the benefits of School Choice. I also worked as the Executive Director of the Ministry/Finances during some very lean years and found creative ways to cut costs that didn't hurt our students or staff. We actually looked for ways to increase income in new and creative ways to help us through those tough times.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
no
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I'm a wife, mom, grandmother, pastor's wife - I was a school teacher, Principal, I've served on Boards and I've been involved in politics. Most people say you shouldn't mix religion and politics, but if that were true, I would have imploded long ago! The church needs to rise up and be counted. We've been silent too long. Family values and morals need to be brought back to our schools and homes. At 60 years old, I would love nothing more than to retire and travel the world. But I can't sit by and watch as the country I love is changing - I HAVE to do something.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I would like to say that I'm pretty good with NO restrictions. The problem with imposing restrictions is that they would only affect the law abiding gun owners - criminals would still possess guns illegally.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
1. Opioid/drug legislation that would ensure that our sober houses and treatment centers are fair and effective. I would also like to see harsher punishments for those trafficing in our communities. 2. Mental Health assistance. Post CoVid, we are going to be facing a mental health crisis in our country. We need funding for more treatment centers and funding for eduction to help those who have a family member suffering from mental illness. 3. I also want to protect School Choice. I would like legislation that ensures that School Choice will always be available to our Florida families, and not de-funded down the road.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Up until a few months ago I would have said no. There were some who claimed that we were a racist country, but I was not seeing it. Our ministry is Interdenominational and very culturely diverse. The sparks of racism are being fanned into raging fires, as our young peole are lied to and encouraged to cry that our country is not treating them fairly. I believe that we have come a long way from what life was in the 1960's and we should continue to press onward.
