QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Termination of pregnancy resulting from rape and/or incest should be allowed within fifteen weeks of conception. Consideration must also be given when the continuation of the pregnancy is a direct threat to the life of the mother.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

The utilization of tax dollars to fund abortion is a morally inappropriate use of public funds.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Disagree

I disagree because of my conviction regarding the sanctity of life.

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

I currently serve in the Florida Legislature. As a State Legislator, I believe Florida’s tax structure is both fair and equitable and not in need of change. This belief is supported by Florida’s balanced budget and strong economy.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Florida’s Constitution requires an annual balanced budget.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

A free, taxpayer funded, K through 12 education is critical for a host of reasons. It also requires compulsory attendance. Attending college is a choice and not one suited for everyone. Consequently, it is not an expense that should be shared by everyone.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Moral obligations and religious beliefs are not necessarily synonymous. In general, an individual’s private, non-taxpayer supported business should not be required to perform in a manner that violates the individual’s religious convictions.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Under no foreseeable circumstances.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C: Mostly closely reflects my sentiments.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

The issue of vaccinations is both controversial and complex. The question alone is complex. Being vaccinated or not should be at the discretion of the individual and not the government, including public schools. However, a private employer should generally be able to exercise their individual discretion as it pertains to their business.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Without infringing on constitutionally protected rights, the first order of business should be to secure our borders and more closely vet those seeking to enter the USA.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

The immigration laws which currently exist are adequate and have served well for generations. The problem is that recent and current administrations have chosen to ignore them and in doing so, have abdicated their lawful responsibilities.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

They are the foundation upon which our Country was built.

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Strongly Agree

However, I do not oppose any type of individual lawful contractual relationships between consenting parties.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. Nothing more needs to be said.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

The laws which exist are adequate…when vigilantly enforced.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. I don’t see how it is a threat to domestic security, with one exception, that being when individuals or organized groups use it as a justification for civil disobedience.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

Neither answer adequately reflects my views. Being good stewards of our environment is critical, however, this must be accomplished thoughtfully, deliberately and with consideration of all ramifications.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Agree

Yes, conceptually, with all due considerations. America should strive for energy independence.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To facilitate the needs of its citizens, most importantly; protecting our sovereignty, our safety and our well-being. The operative words being, its citizens.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

As indicated, I currently serve in the Florida Legislature, where my voting record speaks for itself.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

Priorities: Faith, Family and Country. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, I am a devoted husband and father and a United State Air Force veteran. As for legislative priorities, I will continue to advocate for the issues I promoted during the past legislative session. As I previously indicated, my legislative record speaks for itself. Proven performance trumps hollow promises.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

That is the purpose of having policies, they serve as guidelines.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

These considerations are not mutually exclusive. However, protecting our citizenry is one of the fundamental responsibility of government.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I do not consider the Second Amendment to be ambiguous. “Shall not be infringed” should be interpreted as the literal expression of sentiment by our Founders.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree
