First and foremost we must stop dipping into Social Security for other purposes. To extent necessary, the retirement age may need to be increased somewhat as people are living longer and when social security was instituted the average life expectancy was 65.

I would encourage free market solutions as well as exploration of healthcare cost sharing models such as Christian Healthcare Ministries. I personally participate in a healthcare cost sharing plan and find it adequate and affordable. States, communities, and organizations might form similar programs for like-minded groups and find them to be a strong alternative to traditional health insurance or government funded programs. Medicaid and other state and federal programs are available for truly needy families. We need to explore ways to make these programs cost efficient and competitive.

If elected, as one of only 100 U.S. Senators, I pledge to be a voice for Wyoming, the United States, and liberty. I still believe in the self-evident truths that all men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, among them life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
