RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I believe all men and women are created in the image and likeness of God and have intrinsic value and inherent dignity across all stages of life simply because of the Imago Dei we reflect as His masterpieces. I believe that life begins at conception and that abortion wrongly ends that life. Life is sacred and as such it is our job to ensure that the most vulnerable among us, including unborn babies, are protected. I work tirelessly on legislation that would do just that.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What is your position on the minimum wage?
The market, free and fair, sets the wage based upon competition and value of the workers' performance, ability, and training / education.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
None. Both our Freedom of Religion (not Freedom of Worship) as well as our Freedoms of Speech and Assembly are granted by God and protected by the 1st Amendment.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
None.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes. The nation that blesses and supports Israel will be blessed by God. They are also our strongest democratic ally in the Middle East.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
There should be a lawful, qualifying process that allows contributors to enter and come to the U.S. for the liberty, freedom, and opportunity we offer, but with the express understanding that those liberties, freedoms, and opportunities are accessed through legal immigrants' contributing responsibly and positively to the America with their skills, talents, respect for our culture, and willingness to join us in the true bond of being American.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Strongly Agree
As long as those parents are making decisions for their minor children that are in alignment with both God's standards of righteousness and compliant with traditional societal standards of the ethics, legality, and normalcy necessary to sustain families and promote a healthy society.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
God said it. I believe it. That settles it.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am an active and practicing Christian, born-again as defined in Scripture: empowered by the Holy Spirit through the miracle of Regeneration and having been Justified , I am walking through the process of Sanctification with the hope of future Glorification. My family and faith are the cornerstones of who I am as a person. I believe that my 20-year record of service in the U.S. Army and church reflect this dedication to faith, family, service, religious liberty, and the sanctity of life.
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Strongly Disagree
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I believe that any "-ism," be it racism, classism, ageism, sexism, etc. is not reflective of who God has called us to be through Christ, nor what kind of society God has empowered us to be through Christ. Some are currently exploiting racism as an irritant to domestic tranquility, but knowing our national capabilities from a military professional perspective, I see no issues with our domestic security.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
As a Christian, a Black man, a former foster care kid raised in the South, and a military member, I have seen much degradation and destruction to personal lives, families, communities, and economies. I see the effects of partiality, greed, fear, and sin; they are universal, indiscriminate, and not monopolized by any one demographic or socio-economic strata. I worship The Manufacturer. Not the paint job.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Not only the Independence, but moreso the Dominance of American Oil and Natural Gas (Exploration, Refinement, and Distribution / Sales)
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No.
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Government exists to establish and promote justice; the church exists to establish and promote grace. I do believe the Church has the responsibility and obligation to inform and impact the greater society on issues falling in the domain of morality, and the government has the obligation to promote righteousness while withstanding wickedness and lawlessness.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
As a retired government official I know I have a duty and responsibility to protect and serve the institutions of church and family. I believe the U.S. and Kansan Constitutions enshrine our unrestricted right and duty to protect what I call "the 3Ps and an I" or 3PI: your Person, your People/Family, your Property, and any Innocence you observe under attack or distress.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
Licensed carriers should be able to verify their current and properly-certified training for safely and professionally reacting in the school environment to both present a "hardened target" to bad actors and to save as many lives as possible while neutralizing any threats to the lives of students, faculty, and/or visitors.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Strongly Disagree
