What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
It means a reference from a letter by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists. There is no mention of that phrase in the constitution, indeed our Capital building was used for church services for many years. Government is not to endorse nor prohibit religion.

I believe that God is the Creator and Supreme in the Universe, the I AM. Our form of government must have Biblical values, people of virtue in office and as citizens. As I read scripture, I see our work as benevolent people helping others as being a vital role...and doing so as individuals and groups, not government.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
Over the years I have served on various boards, working with others to solve problems and create solutions, and to develop new programs and opportunities. As a captain with a major airline (my career job) I was in charge of a $400 million aircraft and over 400 lives. The captain is not a dictator, as captain I directed resources and working together both in daily tasks and emergencies.

On #4 above, I actually believe marriage is between two people and God. The idea government has to approve or authorize is wrong. I would prefer peoples marriage (man and woman) be a religious thing and if needed the government can offer a legal contract for those who aren't religious. On #14, mandatory sentencing can create a problem in some instances. A judge should have some discretion for those times. On #16, Government tries to regulate behavior too much. Drinking causes much death and destruction in our nation yet it is legal while a plant is deemed dangerous. If we are to live in a free society, we need to trust the people and expect more of them. Let people live their lives and prosecute them when they infringe others lives and liberties. For the record, I do not drink alcohol and have never tried marijuana. Getting government out of the way is the best way to build the economy, promote growth and create jobs.

Search for areas of fraud and abuse, eliminate duplicate programs to cut spending. Reduce the tax burden on people, especially those who are retired and businesses interested in locating here. I would like to see a move from income and property taxes to sales and use taxes. Remove obstacles for farmers and ranchers so they can process and sell directly to the public easily. Work to develop alternative crops and industries such as hemp which shows incredible potential in many ways.

I believe we have taken a terrible turn in race relations. We made great strides in relations after the 1960s, but lies and stiring the pot by race baiting have brought us to a new low. The real threat is extremists inciting violence rather than using our justice system to prosecute crimes.
