QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
To protect the mother's life: e.g. tubal / ectopic pregnancies are a good example where the fetus can't survive but it growing causes great harm to the mother.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Most of it. I would dramatically reduce the Federal spending and scope of the federal government. I would push back nearly all of that back to the states. I would similarly push back nearly all of the State functions to much more local government. I believe local government is where the majority of the decisions are made.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Simple: The government doesn't put its fingers on the scales regarding faith. The government doesn't in any way establish a faith and doesn't oppress any faith.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I like promoting healthcare coverage but not as an entitlement. I would like to see less rules and restrictions that would lead to more affordable plans for people designed for what they need.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Anyone that would contribute in a positive way to our society. I think we should be trying harder to attract people who would contribute the most to our society and have the skills in the highest demand.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian. I grew up in the Lutheran faith.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I am an officer for many GOP organizations. That doesn't mean I'm "very conservative" necessarily but I've been volunteering and working for republican causes since I was very young (first volunteered in ~1979 for Reagan campaign).
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I've been a small business owner for over 20 years I've been working for over 30 years in the engineering field and have done over 1,500 projects for a very wide variety of clients/customers and this has given me a great deal of experience in a lot of areas. I've also been actively participating in my community since I was around 16 and typically holding various leadership positions in a variety of organizations.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I will fight for my local community and the people who live in Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park. My local Senate District is one of the most neglected communities in the entire state and we have some of the most dramatic issues that need to be addressed. We are #1 in so many areas that are not good to be #1 in. We need to be working on improving many very basic and fundamental things about our community and make this into a much more prosperous place for our people to live, raise families, and do business. Our area is currently being completely neglected and taken advantage of. And I would fight to change that.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Very little. People who have been convicted of various crimes might have their rights taken away for a period of time - but even these might be restored in time after the person has served their time.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
I would be most interested in working to help my local cities: So I would be looking for things that address them most directly. 1. Property values / security. 2. Jobs / employment. 3. Education / oppertunity.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Nope. If it was my family would have been directly impacted. There will always be bad people but, none the less, our country is the best environment for even the unpopular to succeed and thrive.
