What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I have eight years - elected and then re-elected for a second term - serving as a School Board Director. I have had the high honor of signing and handing my children's high school diploma. I have intimate knowledge of how school districts operate.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I strongly believe that a good education is the key to being an informed and engaged citizen. My philosophy: the most important educational relationship is between the one who teaches the student and the student and everyone's job is to nurture that bond. Every decision that I make as Superintendent of Public Instruction will follow that philosophy. When I decided to run for Superintendent of Public Instruction, I dedicated myself to be an advocate for the student; work tirelessly to ensure that all have an opportunity to learn; and to make sure that taxpayers are receiving good value for their hard-earned money.
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
