Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Yes, The events tearing our country apart are heartbreaking. No one should live in fear of murder and violence in our country. Those who are licensed to use force to protect us must care about the lives at stake, and seek to save them. There can be no excuse for what happed to George Floyd. There can also be no excuse for the violence sweeping our cities. Destroying and stealing property and attacking police are causing enormous harm and risking more deaths. Anger at harm done does not justify doing harm to others. And those who are taking advantage of the situation loot, steal, and attack must be stopped. As Americans we must rise above this. We must focus on making lives better for all Americans of all races, and support each other to build better lives.
