What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
With the state looking at an eight billion dollar shortfall over the next few years due to the COVID-19 pandemic I will be looking to cut funds for non essential projects. No one wants to say we cant do without those projects, but we have to make tough decisions. Those projects will have to wait or be done by the private sector, but to ensure we are meeting the need of the people by fully funding education and ensuring we are able to keep Washington moving we have to make the tough decisions.

I have represented my community on the Covington City Council for six years. I listen to the people of my community and work to build bridges where we can find the right answer that will work for all the people.

As your state representative I will be looking to find the right answer, to make the tough decisions. I will listen to all ideas and take them under advisement. I want to build bridges between the people of the 47th and Olympia, along with building bridges between the parties.

Gun ownership is protected by the second amendment and says "Shall not be infringed>" I believe that people should train with their weapons to ensure they are safe and responsible. I however will not introduce any legislation that requires training. I believe that gun owners need to educate themselves and need to know their weapons, that is up to them on how they do that.

I would propose legislation to bring revenue currently in the budget to our transportation fund. I will also be proposing the moving of funds to our basic health budget to allow for mental health funding to our school districts to bring mental health professionals to the schools to help the students in need. Another area will be to find new ways to bring an end to homelessness.

Yes. As we have seen throughout the years there are people out there who believe that the color of ones skin makes them lesser. That is not right. We are all equal and we must all be treated as equals. Any other thought will destabilize our country, and cause distrust amongst many.
