OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

In the event of rape or the life of the mother is in danger.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

In the current environment, delayed implementation of capital project, pause pay increases or at least reduce to match inflation, tie higher education funding to post-graduate employment in their chosen field for students and consolidation services for government agencies.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Neutral

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

That is a phrase first uttered by an attorney as part of a dispute before the US Supreme Court. It was found nowhere in the Constitution, and indeed the Constitution never put a barrier between church and state. Instead, the Constitution sought to protect the church from government interference, such as happened in Europe. Our founding principals are based in Christianity, and there is no need to be ashamed of that fact.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Pushing down the costs of healthcare through transparency in pricing, deregulation which allows insurers to compete, and identifying and unclogging choke points that result in reduced supply.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

The only immigration to the United States should be controlled immigration. Over the last several decades, the United States citizen has had little to no control over who becomes our neighbors. Undoubtedly, many of those people who arrived are good folks who came for a better life, however as citizens we have the right and should control who comes in. If we decide to increase immigration it should be a conscious decision made by the people through their representatives with accompanying accountability. I am in favor of immigration based on needed skills where an American is available to fill the position, however it cannot simply be because it would be too expensive to hire an American. I am in favor of a limited visa lottery which goes to increasing the beauty of tapestry that is our nation. As a Christian, I favor taking in refugees until it is safe for them to return to their home nation.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I found Christ through self-discovery when I was thirteen. Over time I read the Bible cover to cover multiple times, using study guides in the process, however, I do not consider myself an expert. Throughout my life I have done by best to practice the teachings of Christ. Above all I work daily on my faith and reinforcing my commitment to God through prayer. Through my works I aim to give back to my community through donating my time, skills and money. I work to love others and treat them as I wish to be treated. I have abstained from drinking, smoking, and drugs knowing that I must take care of the vessel God has given me. I do my best to be a good example, imperfect as it is. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for sixteen years and we have three daughters together under 11 years of age. At night I regularly guide my family through biblical teachings and prayer.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

The best recent example would be my twitter @jerimykirschner or Facebook.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

For education I have a B.A. in Criminal Justice, and a Juris Doctor. I understand our structure, the law, and how to effectively battle for my voters voice to be heard. For experience. I came from humble beginnings, at times being raised by my single mom who was on welfare at one point. I worked full time in college, then continued working throughout law school. After law school I started my own small business, which I manage to this day. I have had the privilege of meeting people from all walks of life and feel that I have the ability to understand and help them work though their issues.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am running to help provide a better place for my daughters to be raised in. I cannot stand from the outside looking in any longer. I must play my part in crafting a better future and solutions that will ensure our prosperity continues.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Restrictions should be carefully limited as gun ownership is a natural right which is protected by the Constitution. Restrictions which limit access to convicted criminals, those with severe mental illness coupled with an intent to harm, and those subject to a valid protection order.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Neutral

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1.Targeted tax reduction and deregulation of businesses suffering most from the current economic crisis. 2. Community Protection. Tying prosecutor discretion which releases repeat offenders to reduced funding for that prosecutors pay. The saved money would then be transferred to departments which actively prosecute community welfare cases (such as prosecuting those who discard needles in playgrounds). Ending criminalizing of victims of crime under I-1639 (for gun owners who had their guns stolen and used in a crime), ending the heightened storage requirements, among other elements. 3. Commute Reduction. Identify areas with longest commute and highest projected growth and prioritize transportation projects to those areas.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Not in the way many would think. As Americans, we are a people united by principles and common beliefs that have been enshrined in our Constitution. Dividing ourselves by race and pitting one side against another is dangerous to our longevity as a Nation and becomes all to easy to exploit by those that bear us ill will. We are a young nation with people of all walks of life, races and religions. For it to work, we must all be equal with no one race treated better or worse than others. Raising up some at the expense of others creates unnecessary division and can be a threat to the long term domestic security of the United States.
