QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Neutral
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Disagree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Did not answer
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I do not agree with late term abortion when the baby is viable. We should focus on prevention of unplanned pregnancies and we should focus on the reasons one would choose to terminate a pregnancy. If cost of a child is the issue, universal healthcare will help and affordable childcare would help. Abortion is a woman's choice - it is her body. We cannot force someone to give a kidney to save another. We have to make the choice more appealable or nonexistent by prevention.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Neutral
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
The whole program needs reform to be sustainable. We should raise the retirement age - the last time that it was reformed was in 1983 - we need to account for longer lifespans. We should raise the payroll tax cap and increase the income taxation of Social Security benefits for high income households.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I would roll back tax cuts to the very rich and I would want to look into spending waste in the military.
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
Student loans should be able to be refinanced to lower terms. Taxpayers should not be involved in paying off existing student loans but government programs should subsidize the education of students in high need areas like health care, mental healthcare and education.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Disagree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Did not answer
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The government should not show any preference to any particular religion. No one religion, or religion in general, be forced unto an individual in a state setting. Religious person are free to practice voluntarily in state settings however.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Agree
I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I think we need to strengthen the ACA right away so that it works better and is more affordable for more folks. One thing that would help is to allow people to buy coverage not dependent on where they live. This will help rural families especially. The next step is to provide Medicare for all who want it. We need to get the "For Profit" part out of healthcare. When sick people are viewed as an opportunity to get rich, we have a toxic capitalism problem. I do feel that a Universal Healthcare system is possible here. We need to get together experts in many fields that can craft a system that is sustainable and patient centered. Voters should check out: pnhp.org (Physicians for a National Health Program) If America is the Greatest country on earth then it should have the greatest heath care system for all! Why do we spend $700 billion on military to defend us, when we have so many sick and dying here because they can't afford their medicine or care.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
We should not be interfering with other countries but rather we should be try diplomacy in relations with them. We should get away from our dependance on foreign oil as well.
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Disagree
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.
Did not answer
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Did not answer
Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.
Did not answer
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
The whole system is a mess and needs reform. We should expand the guest worker program and the way that they pay into public services. We should not be basing our decisions on racist or pro-Christian reasons it is important to note. Our country was built by immigrants from all over and our diversity makes us richer.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Did not answer
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am Unitarian Universalist and I respect the many world religions and take many valuable lessons from their teachings. I believe that as long as a person is good , that is the importance. We must love all humanity and see the inherit worth and dignity in us all.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Somewhat Liberal
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I think I slide from liberal to moderate depending on the issue. I'm not sure what kind of proof I can provide except folks can read my campaign website information.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
no.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am not running for office for ego or glory, but I stepped up to run because I did not like my Representative in that he is not accessible to the people nor has he brought in any resources to our struggling rural folks. I believe in term limits and I believe that elected officials should be beholden to the people that elect them, not big business who funds the campaigns of so many.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Red Flag laws enacted fairly would restrict gun ownership to those judged fairly to be dangerous. We also need to "come to the table" and discuss what types of guns and gun accessories should be allowed to be owned with or without restrictions by civilians.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.
Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Agree
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Did not answer
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Agree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
Healthcare reform, Innovations in green energy, investments and resources for public education.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I believe the question deserves true scrutiny and that we can always do better by folks.
