QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
A life is a life, and I do not feel that there are circumstances that warrant it. There are plenty of people that would love to adopt.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Separation of Church and State to me means that the Founders intended there to be no national religion and that is all. It did not mean that we had to remove religion from anything state-sponsored. Having heavily studied the Constitution and the original intent of the Founders, I don't see how anyone could come to a different conclusion. It was only changed in the 1900s because of a letter to the Dansbury Baptists by Jefferson, which I believe was misinterpreted by the Supreme Court.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Privatizing and allowing for across state line sales would make it more affordable for everyone. In the process it would be more accessible and adequate.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
The Growth Management Act needs a massive overhaul, if not completely cut out. It restricts the rights of local governments. The lack of transparency in where the money is going needs to be looked at as well. There is no reason for us to be raising taxes when there was a huge surplus just last year. I would also take a hard look at the money going out to the homeless and how what has been being done has not worked. There has to be a better more fiscally conservative way to do it.
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
People who come in the correct way, through the Federal Government, and have all the necessary paperwork completed. I think that we should put a damper on immigration from countries that have committed terrorist attacks on Americans.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The second amendment guarantees everyone should be able to own a gun. Right now, felons cannot own guns, that is the law but not Constitutional. The people that cause issues with guns are the ones that get them when they shouldn't. If prosecutors would start charging any gun-related charges as the law requires (automatic 5 years) in Washington, they would be serving more time for having that gun when they shouldn't
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Neutral
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
No additional taxation on the citizens of WA. If we do not get R90 on the ballot, I will introduce legislation to repeal the Sexual Education bill that passed the last session. Education that is far superior to what we have now.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Right now it is, there are riots everywhere over a black man being killed. I would not deny it exists, but it doesn't exist in my world. I believe more than anything that the media creates this diviseness that would not be so front and center if they didn't make it priority to do so.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
Anyone can check my Facebook, my website www.alishabeeler.com, or can reach out to me directly and I would be happy to answer any questions. I am an open book. I am neutral on the legalization of marijuana because I believe we could be using that tax money to be helping our citizens.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I have worked for the county government for 14 years. I am active in the community and serve with a lot of volunteer groups. I have a BA in Social Sciences from Washington State University. From Liberty University, I have a Master of Public Adminstration, Master of Public Policy, and a Master in Political Science. I am just over a year into my PhD in Public Policy with an emphasis in Social Policy.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am committed to the people of the 26th legislative district and will serve with integrity and grit. I will work for the people of the state and ensure that the people are getting the kinds of things that they need from their legislators. I will restore unity and work well with my fellow legislators. I am a Constitutionalist and I believe that the Founders set up the incredible Constitutional Republic that is slowly being eroded and is nearing its tipping point. We must preserve our American Dream and the dreams of the Founders who put their lives on the line to create the most perfect Union. God Bless America and God Bless all of you.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I became a Christian in high school. I have lived my life with purpose and with values. There were times I was not a great Christian, but I have worked hard to restore Christian values to my life. If I fail I get right back up. I think that is all any of us can do. My motto in life is that it costs me nothing to be nice to people and I live that every day. Being a nice person does not mean I will lay down and not fight, it just means I will do it with a smile and respect. Respect is something that has been missing in the political sphere and I think that we can bring some of that back. Integrity is also something that is incredibly important and I claim it, wholeheartedly.
