QUESTIONNAIRE*
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Rape and incest
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Waste and this will have to be identified on a case by case basis.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Agree
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate informed iVoterGuide that his intended answer to this question should have been "neutral".
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Did not answer
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Medicare for all is not the solution. Private Insurance is billed at 40% above cost and Medicare and Medicaid is billed at 10-15% below cost. If we move to Medicare for all system Premiums would double effecting the individuals who most need, the system they have paid into for their whole lives. Also, it would require the closing of 15% of our current facilities, effecting mostly rural and inner city locations. We have to work within the industry and with Insurance companies to keep health and pharmaceuticals affordable. We have seen this work on the insulin front and we need to move forward and be proactive in all areas of health care.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
As a husband of an immigrant I am in favor of legal immigration. I am in favor of making it easier to become a U.S. citizen. By making it easier to become a citizen we would see an influx of high quality individuals like my wife's family that would and do consider it an honor to be a citizen and lead product lives, pay their fair share of taxes and stimulate the economy.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Neutral
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Neutral
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Catholic/christian

2ND AMENDMENT

Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I am not in favor of any changes to current gun laws, however, I am concerned abuot the lack of background checks on private gun sales.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
Relaxing HIPPA regulations so that officers know when they are on a call if they are walking into a mental health situation or a dangerous situation. Secondly, we need to approach our current economic situation in two ways; we need to work with the local community to help stimulate local businesses. This can be done through local loyalty programs and gift cards. Buying habits have changed getting people back to buying from local businesses has to be a focus of our elected officials. Also, as part of growing our economy, we sit right in the middle of the University of Minnesota and the Mayo Clinic. It is a tremendous opportunity to develop health care businesses. Thirdly, (and this ties into growing the economy), our class sizes continue to grow. By growing the economy it will help keep our class sizes smaller. We also need to encourage the opportunities that vocational training have to offer starting at the high school level.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
