QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Did not answer
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I believe human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Did not answer
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
There are too many unsustainable programs created by government. I believe we need to find a pathway to a balanced budget. Government overspending and deficit spending has made our country vulnerable.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Did not answer
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution provides that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." Over the years, this has been not been interpreted properly. Today, too many people believe the 1st amendment is a restriction. The 1st amendment is not a restriction to the exercise of religion but the pathway to freely exercise religion.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Did not answer
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Access to quality and affordable healthcare begins with competition in the marketplace. Patients deserve choices in care.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Did not answer
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Did not answer
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I support legal immigration.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Did not answer
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Did not answer
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Did not answer
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe my spiritual beliefs and values are described though acts, not words. My family loves giving back to the community through organizations that help the community, and people living in it, better.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I am a small business owner and attorney with Althauser Rayan Abbarno, LLP in Centralia and Olympia; but most importantly, I am a husband and father.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
Peter Abbarno is a small business owner and attorney with Althauser Rayan Abbarno, LLP (Centralia and Olympia); but most importantly, Peter is a husband and father. Peter lives in Centralia with his wife Holly (Hawes), a math teacher at Centralia Middle School, and their two children Sophia and Antonio. Peter is deeply involved in our community and volunteers regularly with his church, Bethel-Chehalis, and in local schools. In 2018, readers of the Daily Chronicle voted Peter as the “Best Volunteer” in Lewis County. Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Yes, racism is a threat to our security. Our country, state, county, community should judge people by the content of their character, not color of their skin. Racism, divides our country and makes us less secure to domestic and foreign influence.
