OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

When the life of the mother is in jeopardy

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Absolutely not. If it violates their religious beliefs then they shall not be compelled to do it. That is why God made other cake bakers and so forth.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Never. Read the first amendment.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Stop allowing the CIA to go over to foreign countries and run color revolutions that stir up hatred for the United States.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

Not our business. We do not need to police the world.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Because we are a compassionate society, we should continue to make medicaid available to those in need of it. Because, they have payed in advance for it, Medicare should continue to be available. Generally socialist (single payer) healthcare is a bad idea. There is no such thing as a free lunch. With "free" medicine (that we would actually pay for in higher taxes) comes such extra "benefits" such as waiting lists for certain services and medicines, rationing of services and medicines and age limits for certain life saving medicine or surgery. Remember also that in Socialized medicine the patient is no longer the customer. In our present system when you pay the doctor, you are the customer and the person whom the doctor needs to make happy. When the government pays for the healthcare, the customer is the government. Doctors then work for the government and not for us. They will be less worried about making the patient happy than making their employer (the government) happy. Think of the VA hospitals. Do veterans always get good service there? Are there often backlogs for certain services? Think of the Secretary of States office and purchasing licenses. How often do you have a concientious clerk in the SOS office? Private health care is generally more responsive.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Never. It is an individuals sole right to decide their health care choices. If a vaccine works, the a citizen may want to avail themself of it. If it does work than the vaccine will protect him from the disease, making it unimportant whether anyone else gets it. It is totally oximoronic to insist that others get a vaccine to protect you from a disease.

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

1. Let's set the business taxes to be no more than other states with which we compete for industries which will provide jobs for Michiganders. Reasonable tax rates, plus cutting regulations, plus lowering the cost of utilities in Michigan will help attract and keep employers in MI. We also need to figure out how to reduce / eliminate the property tax. Property tax is a very regressive tax and is unfair to seniors and others who have a fixed income.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

The purpose of government is to protect our rights. The purpose of State governments is also to provide certain shared infra-structure like roads, bridges state parks and recreation lands and waterways and public schools. These services should be high priority. Other items are lower prioity and subject to cuts. I understand the Pure Michigan campaign has cost more money than the amount of money retuned by any increased tourism. If that is so, this campaign should be cut from the budget. Public school attendance has been decreasing the last few years, while per pupil funding has increased and the quality of education has decreased. Should some parts of school funding be decreased? Do we have too manty administrative personel and too few teachers? Schools should be teaching the basics: reading, writing and arithmatic, and American history and government, not social programs like social emotional learning etc..

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

It should be guaranteed through high school, teaching reading writing arithmatic, the constitution and American government. chemistry, biology physics and other sciences should be added as proficiency in the basics is attained. College is not necessary for everyone. Many people can be very successful in skilled trades or other areas that do not require college and charging taxes to those who don't go to college for the college of others is wrong.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

People that love our country and can contribute in a positive way to our country, and will learn our language so they can be good neighbors, should be allowed to imagrate to the US in reasonable numbers.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

We may need to eliminate the Blaine amendment in order to make this possible, but we should work to make it happen.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

none. An armed society is a polite society. We need fewer gun-free zones.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

Should ice cream stores be liable for you gaining weight?

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The prupose of government is to secure the rights of the people, nothing more.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

It is so strange how these descriptors have changed over time. I am very concerned about liberty and freedom. Thus one might think I am liberal. But now that the US Constitution has set up a liberal and liberty conserving form of government, I am mostly concerned with restraining governmment to the constitution and thus conserving the American experience. Thus I seem to be a conservative in the modern definition of the word.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

I am new to politics. I am grass roots and have not been prominent in the media before. Here is a link to a video: https://rumble.com/v15iigh-dr.-gary-mitchell-for-mi-sate-house-42.html

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

1. Election integrity is very important to me. If we don't have fair elections to elect our representatives, but instead allow lawless people to select our rulers by election fraud, then we have a tyranny not a representative republic. The 2000 mules documentary unequivacally shows that the 2020 presidential election in Michigan was stolen from the voters. I will vote to decertify that election and recall the Biden electors. Then we need to do careful work to revamp the election laws to prevent election fraud in the future. 2. Our public schools have been infiltrated over the last 50- 100 years. We must figure out a way to reclaim this ground or we will have lost the war. Teachers are not teaching the basics, they seem to be spending more time on the social engineering stuff. 3. Michigan is loosing employers to other states due to high taxes and electric utility rates as well as over regulation. We need to work to make these issues more competitive.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

Office holders and government workers as well as the military take an oath of office. The oath is only useful when people fear breaking it.

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Agree

I am OK allowing gay unions and cohabitation. I also believe it is then fair for them to have equal protection under the law for tax purposes etc. But it is impossible for them to constitute a biblical marriage and produce offspring without the participation of a third person.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

The USA is not systemically racist. Where racism exists we should eliminate it. There is no reference to race in the US Constitution. It does refer to non-free persons in a successful effort to eliminate slavery. The idea that we continue to be racists (especially compared to many other nations) is nonsense. The sooner we start ignoring that suggestion, the sooner we will think and act towards one another as equals.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a strong Christian. God is good and in control. Jesus gave us a law with 2 parts; 1. Love the lord with all your heart, mind and soul. 2. Love your neighbor as yourself. I work to fullfill these laws everyday.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

Voting is a right and a responsibility If you think so little of this responsibility that you can not obtain and bring your ID to the Polls, then you probably have not done the necessary research to be sure you know who you are voting for and probably should not be voting.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

We need to eliminate all voting machines. Any machine that must be programmed (they all must) can be programmed to cheat and still to pass the accuarcy test before they cheat. We need to go back to paper ballots that are counted by hand on election day. Absentee ballots should only be allowed for those with a demonstratable need. Perhaps we should use fingerprints for ballot ID, since signatures are too subjective. There needs to be a single voting day, not a voting season. The qualified voter file needs to be totally purged of the ~ 20% extra voters. It may be better if everyone re-registers every 3-4 years. No, people do not need to be automatically registered to vote if they get a drivers license. If they do not care enough to take action to get registered then they are not likely to get educated about the voting choice before they vote.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. Unless the enemy keeps ginning up Antifa and BLM to riot and prosecutors do not prosecute them for law breaking. I do believe the civilian population is less racists than it has been at any previous time in my life. It will continue to improve as we stop thinking about color of skin instead of quality of character. Stop being racist right now.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Why? For what are we paying them? If you are thinking of paying reparations for people having been enslaved, so, how far back do we go. Most of our ancestors have been enslaved at one time or another in the past. Who should pay reparations? Very few Americans ever owned slaves. Nobody alive that I know has ever legally owned slaves in the USA. Nobody I know has legally been a slave in the USA. How much should be paid?

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

Strict enough environmental laws are necessary. Do you want to go swimming in the Kalamazoo River? We need to protect our environment and it takes thoughtful study and implementation to protect the environment and at the same time, not unecessarily harm the people or industries involved. Many environmental laws, are set up to add redtape and not really effect the environment in any useful way. We need to guard agains these types of regulations while embracing those which are critical to sensitive environmental issues. I also thouroughly believe that any regulations suggested by a bureaucratic agency should be enacted by the legislature before becoming active.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

There is no substantial downside to fracking, that I know of, if it is done carefully with adequate concern to not pollute the ground water.
