QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Under extreme circumstances of threat to the mother's life. Two independent medical Doctor's examination must confirm a diagnosis that the Mother would have less than a 50% chance of survival during the birthing process. If a premature birth would increase the percentage of the Mother surviving to greater than 50%, then this should be carefully considered by the Mother's Attending Physician. If the premature birth does occur, every resource should be utilized by the medial facility and present personnel to help the baby to survive.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
All non-essential government spending needs to be stopped. Every government program that does not affect daily living needs must be postponed or ended. Businesses must be brought back on line now. All State offices need to review a 15% layoff. State paid unemployment benefits are less than most state employee payroll saving money for the State but the laid off worker will be eligible for the additional $600 a week Federal sponsored payment.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The State or governing body will not interfere with the practices of a Religious group so long as none of those practices involve civil crimes against a person or property. A religion should not be allowed to practice stoning, public lashing or female gentile mutilation. On the other side, the State should not be able to force a Church to accept civil regulations that are against their religiously held beliefs. A church should not be forced to conduct a same sex marriage if it is against their beliefs. A church should not have to accommodate abortion education or sponsorship, nor make bathroom facilities for transgender persons if it against their beliefs. The State has no obligation to use tax dollars to support any Religious organization.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Until ACA was passed, almost all employers offered a healthcare package that was adequate for their employees. Self-employed were able to join groups that allowed them to get affordable coverage. Those less fortunate were able to rely on Medicaid and charitable foundations for emergent medical necessities. We need to return to letting our Free Enterprise system motivate employers to offer benefits that attract their workers. Doctors groups have invented ingenious ways to offer good healthcare at reasonable prices. These groups also attract the self-employed segment of our population with good medical coverage at reasonable prices. People between employment, and students can take advantage of special term coverage at reasonable prices that currently exist. Medicaid can cover many of the other uninsured as they do now. Instead of spending money on clean needles, drugs and sidewalk sanitation, cities should use it for healthcare and rehabilitation services for the homeless.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
There are Immigration laws that govern who is allowed and the processes by which people can immigrate to our country on either a temporary or permanent basis. As long as those laws are being adhered to, that individual should be allowed into our country. Changing our Immigration laws is an urgent priority for our US Congress. Each individual that wants to immigrate must make application and not be brought in because a relative obtains immigration papers. We also need to change the rules about children of non citizens born in the US automatically becoming a US Citizen.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
My Catholic background has given me a well founded belief in the presence of God and His Son Jesus Christ. Religion is a way to hold ourselves to a higher standard and live in the mold that we should do to others the way we would like to be treated. There are many forms of appreciating God and all of those forms need to be recognized as equal in the eyes of our Government as they are equal in the eyes of God. I value working hard to achieve your goal, free enterprise and Capitalism, the opportunity to excel to become the best you can be, enjoy your life without interfering with others rights, a fair system of justice that reflects our Constitution, innocent until proven guilty, ability and opportunity to improve your life as a reward for hard work. Those who have success in a society should help those who struggle, but not to make it a way of life. A society is at it's strongest when all Citizens are contributing members.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I have not been a public figure during my working career, so I have little in the way of public profession of my Conservative beliefs. I invite any interested voter to visit my personal Facebook site and peruse all of my posts. I have been a member of FB for the last 11 years.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I am running for a seat in the Michigan House of Representatives. Those elected to this position need to be the voice of Michigan that expresses how they choose to be governed. I am not arrogant enough to believe that a formal education qualifies anyone to become a Voice of the People. Education does not always equal Common Sense or the ability to look for unintended consequences of Legislative action. I am a common man. I grew up in the Midwest with conservative values. I worked hard to achieve success in industry. I have skills in managing people and achieving goals. I have had much more success when listening to those around me rather than dictating to them.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
Never
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am just a normal Citizen who never expected to find motivation to run for public office. My only special qualification for entering the political arena is a grave concern for the future of our country and respect for the freedoms guaranteed by that marvelous document, the Constitution. I see many state governments attacking our Freedom of Speech, our Right to Bear Arms, imposing minority rights at the expense of others civil rights, making Politically Correct overrule constitutional law, sanctuary states resisting Federal Law, enacting Red Flag laws and on and on. I want to be another voice in our Legislature that will fight against those things. We need to regain a good dose of Common Sense and original values of our Founding Fathers
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
There are already too many burdensome restrictions on gun ownership. No gun zones not backed up by metal detectors are open invitations to violence. A gun is only the instrument of the malice in a person's heart. Red Flag laws need to be removed. Restrictions such as on magazines, transportation of arms, etc are doing nothing but making criminals out of ordinary citizens.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
Removal of the Governor's power to declare an unlimited State of Emergency under the 1945 Act 302. Sponsor Legislation that eliminates the possibility of Michigan declaring itself a Sanctuary State for Illegal Aliens. Sponsor Legislation that mandates one subject per Legislative bill. Only items that pertain to that specific subject may be contained in the Legilation.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
As used in the Politically Correct society we are now immersed in, Racism is a term applied by anyone toward anyone who does not agree with them. This is not Webster's definition of Racism. As such, yes it does very much represent a threat to our society because it pulls at the very fabric of our unity. It does not represent a threat from without, but a threat from within. We need those who call themselves "Leaders" to stop using this term as a broad brush to justify their disagreement with others. It is the responsibility of those in the public image to become educators as to what this term really means. Only then can real strides be made in areas where real racism still exists.
