OTHER INFORMATION
QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Only to save the life of the mother.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I would seek to reduce entitlements that stifle economic growth and the human spirit. Programs that are intended for temporary relief during a difficult economic circumstance are beneficial. A permanent welfare state is not only expensive, but can be destructive to an individual's purpose.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Neutral
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The church and the state are two autonomous entities. The intent of the church and state argument was to reassure the church that the government would not be interfering church affairs. The church has a responsibility to be educated in our government and share the biblical world view. Throughout the course of human history, the church and the government will disagree on many policies and the church has a right to speak about these disagreements. The government also does not have the right to establish a state sponsored religion that citizens must adhere to.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I would promote a spirit of competition that would allow families and individuals to procure a health plan that works for their situation. The more robust competition that is available and the more freedom, the lower costs will be. I also support price transparency so individuals can make educated decisions about their health care plans, and where they get medical services from.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
No Answer
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I am running for state government and do not have a bearing on Federal Immigration policy.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
No Answer
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a born again Christian. I accepted Jesus as my savior almost 9 years ago. It is by God's grace alone that I am saved and not through my works or actions.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
Since I am new to politics I really do not have much available information to validate this except the people in my life that I have interacted with and the views I express to them. I have been active in the Republican party for almost four years and have given resources to conservative candidates.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Engineering Sciences with a concentration in Supply Chain Management and have worked in both the Engineering and Supply Chain Management fields. I believe strongly in a government of the people, by the people, for the people and want to be a true public servant, accountable to my constituents. I have worked in various environments in my career and with a diverse group of team members. Consensus building, and relationship building are very important to me. I believe our elected servants should act with grace and empathy towards those we have disagreements with.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am a husband and father of two beautiful daughters. I am running because I want to truly serve the public and serve my entire community, not just those that vote for me. I want to see a shift in the culture of our politics and move away from divisive and personal attacks and into intellectual and spirited policy debate.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
No Answer
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The second amendment is very important to our nation. Individuals have right to keep and bear arms to defend themselves and their family from threats. I think the system of background checks that individuals must go through before purchasing a fire arm can help in some cases protect public safety. However, intentionally making it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to purchase firearms should not be permitted.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
Infrastructure - Michigan has been dealing with infrastructure issues for many years and they continue to be at the forefront of everyone's mind. Every day commutes can end in disaster due to crippling road conditions, and our supply chain is under stress from inadequate roadways. We need to come together to find a solution that will not in-debt the next generation or overly burden our tax payers. Education Reform - Our families deserve to have choices when it comes to their children's education. We need to continue to expand options including access to school of choice, and charter schools. As well as not creating undue burden on private schooling or homeschooling options. Small Business Incentives - Especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and response, business owners have seen their whole life's work destroyed. This fact is going to discourage future entrepreneurs from starting their own businesses in the future.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I think there can be an argument to be made that racism is a threat to domestic security. The Bible tells us to love our neighbor, and we should really be living that out. Identity politics has created a larger chasm over the last several election cycles and has left many people hurting. We need to come together as the human race to truly improve our communities and our government.
