OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion is a matter that needs to be addressed before it becomes a question. With an understanding of history and the desperate actions some women could take, I fully believe we need to have an improved dialogue here with better, more compassionate, services which are not driven by funding, and more prevention education. I would like to meet this topic halfway and eliminate facilities like Planned Parenthood and have hospitals perform these procedures in a safe manner. I believe all persons requesting one should be counseled, see their baby, and discuss other options with an impartial party. Although my personal belief is life begins at conception, I respect that we are free people to make our own moral medical choices and there are also circumstances beyond our control such as incest and rape. I have supported pro-life events and even fully sponsored a theater showing of "Unplanned," but as a Representative I would try to find the best solution for all constituents.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I think this would require further scrutiny of the budget itself. There are many expenses in government that have no benefit to the people at large or are allocated based on lobbying and special interests and these often deserve the most scrutiny and do not receive it.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Disagree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

No Answer

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

This means no laws can be made to inhibit or prohibit any person's right to worship as they see fit, outside of harm to others in doing so. It also means no discrimination of individuals in public office based on their religious views. I also believe that this intends to keep worship out of public school with the exception of patriotic and historical mantras and songs. In that case children can opt out of participation without penalty if they are uncomfortable. Many of these traditions are the important parts of patriotism and should not be eliminated. Religious bias should not be a deciding factor in law-making and those who hold public office should do they best to be impartial in matters of religious contention.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Healthcare reform is a huge concern for me. We need common sense measures to create affordable insurance options. I support individualized choice in healthcare, medical privacy and do not support universal healthcare or primary government funded healthcare as a standard for all.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Agree

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Individuals seeking to become legal US citizens should have to seek and apply for sponsorship by current citizens; whether that is an employer, a relative or an individual who has applied to sponsor the person. This could be a private citizen who wishes to mentor immigrants who are fleeing poor conditions. Sponsorship would insure that immigrants would continue on an appropriate program toward citizenship or if that changes, the sponsor would be burdened to notify the authorities. This puts a larger burden on the people who wish to allow open immigration while continuing to monitor the immigrants effectively. All people going through the program would need training and numbers would be limited.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

No Answer

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

No Answer

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that all religions are welcome in the United States per our constitution and may be freely practiced as long as those practices do not infringe on the rights of others. I believe that any prayer should be welcomed equally. I also believe that spiritual, and even what some may call philosophical, beliefs fall under Freedom of Religion and a citizen does not need to be a member of a certain place of worship or labeled religious group. Religion is deeply personal. I respect people of all religions regardless of what they believe. I support laws to stop discrimination based on religion. I would protect those who refuse certain laws or social norms based on religion.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Somewhat Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I support the constitution and the American Dream. Opportunity is the cornerstone of success allowing hard work to build the results we desire. This involves free market competition. I support traditional family values and respect women of all professions, including motherhood. In that, I support families of all types. I view all people as equal regardless of income or education or any other factors. I have a deep concern for our environment, chemical pollution and waste, animal welfare and support the arts as an essential part of society that has the same weight as other educational and professional endeavors. My core thinking is Conservative with traditional values, with appreciation for others concerns and viewpoints.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I do not have a background in political science, law, or any other applicable field; however, I have been very involved in volunteer groups throughout my life and have always been interested in government. I would have pursued a career in law possibly, had I not been diagnosed with a severe illness in late high school which altered my path considerably. Years later, it is that which spurred me to go full force into politics and protecting people's medical rights and privacy. A science enthusiast my entire life I read scientific research for fun. Even though I do not have the typical background for a politician I have a very interesting set of diverse life experiences that afford me the ability to understand situations of all types of people. Seeing our government is to be run by the common person to represent the needs and desires of the common man, I find myself uniquely qualified. I am not running for prestige or money, I am running to fairly and passionately represent my district.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am a busy mom currently, who has worked in corporate America, worked for myself and had a small business as well. I am also in a family that owns a large business so I have a wide perspective to view economics from. I am dedicated and passionate and love the people of Michigan. On your level and here to represent you, I'm not doing this to be a "politician" but to be a person for the people in her community. If you are looking for someone who is doing this because they truly care about their community, state and country, I am the candidate for you. My core values support limited government and personal responsibility, with a focus on public safety and individual freedoms being protected. Transparency, morality and honesty are very important to me as well as supporting the constitution and your rights as free people. I am always here to listen to anyone who has concerns and I am ready to learn from my constituents.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

No Answer

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Background checks are important but wouldn't be opposed to adding a gun safety class for all people wishing to use and/or purchase firearms.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Neutral

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

One of my top priorities is to create educational programs about health to empower our state citizens to live healthier lifestyles. Knowledge is power, and Michigan needs to step up to help its people be healthier. This is the only way to attack situations like the one we find ourselves in now. The MDHHS has long failed to provide a positive education to the people on healthy lifestyle choices and habits to promote good hygiene and other important preventive health measures. Another top priority is giving more control over education to local districts. Parents and educators should be empowered to work together and create a learning environment all parties can participate in and feel invested in. And I would like to address problems in our state related to special education/needs and mental health services.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Unfortunately yes but this problem is extremely complex and will need much more space than I have to write. Racism spans far more than the typical way people think of it and goes in all directions. Those who have been victimized by racism as a group also victimize the other side. The only way to fix this is a complete change in cultural narrative. And hate, a significant root of racism, always threatens security.
