RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Agree
Good ideas do not require force. The public has proven over and over they will support Planned Parenthood with private donations; In 2016 they saw a 400% increase in donations. Due to the recent SCOTUS decision on Roe v Wade, private donations are again increasing. Government should not be involved in our medical decisions and I would support a medical freedom act that would ensure our ability to make our own medical choices; Keeping the government out of those decisions. It's your body.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Agree
This is a hard decision and there are many reasons why someone may make that decision for themselves. Ultimately, it is their decision, we as a free society do not get to dictate to others what they can and can't do unless they are actually harming others.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
This is a decision for a doctor and patient. Government should not be making our medical decisions and I would support a medical freedom act that would ensure our ability to choose our medical plans, procedures and vaccines. Keeping the government out of those decisions.
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Disagree
Redistribution of income to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes is as valid as subsidization of corporate and special interests between big business and small. It doesn’t work, and is simply a wedge issue to divert from the real problem - OVER-SPENDING.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
We need a balanced budget. We need a plan to reduce the debt. I propose that we audit and hold accountable all government agencies. How can we do that? We could pass the Federal Sunset Act. It creates a commission whose sole purpose is to expose inefficiencies and if necessary close federal agencies that no longer serve the interest of the people. Every federal agency would be subject to an audit at least once every 12 years!
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Before 1913 we had no income tax… let’s go back to that. There is only one fair income tax rate and that is zero. Ron Paul was right. We are taxed on income, sales, property, inheritance, death, and so called SIN taxes, if there must be a tax - TAX CONSUMPTION.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Neutral
I don’t believe that religious freedom is at risk; I would always protect your right to practice any religion that is peaceful.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
A business owner has the right to refuse business, and consumers have the right to shop elsewhere. Stop forcing your views on others. That's not freedom, it's tyranny. Live and let live.
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
Separate, The church and state should always be separated to ensure everyone's religion is a protected right. We are a “Republic” that democratically elects its representatives. We accept all people of all religious backgrounds in the land of the free. We should continue to do that. There should be no relationship between church and state. The government is tasked to protect the individual equally, without regard to their religion.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
None. That is for the private, individual entities to decide for themselves; Consumers and employees also should have the freedom to use other vendors/services or take other job opportunities to meet their needs and fit their values.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C- I would like to have up-front pricing as a starting point to lowering healthcare costs. There are other healthcare models that do not require insurance. The Direct Primary Care (DPC) healthcare model is a membership based model that can serve about 90% of your needs. There are also free market surgery providers proving to far less costly than traditional hospitals and insurance, with up front pricing. Surgery Center of Oklahoma is a good ex. https://surgerycenterok.com/ , use their prices to negotiate with your provider and watch the price come down!
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
C- We should vote on whether or not to send our children to war. We have gotten away from debating these things and that is why we were in a 19-year war in Afghanistan. Our Constitution requires congress to produce a Declaration of War before those troops fall under the command of the President. That hasn’t happened in a long time, yet the bombs continue dropping. I’m not so sure our current foreign policy isn’t the problem. How are we ever to achieve peace, if we never practice it?
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Choose not to answer
How long have they been fighting each other? Are we really helping, can a peace be brokered? I would like to keep trying but at some point we have to tell both of these participants to fix the mess between themselves.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Agree
We should use diplomacy to build a cooperative relationship with China, tying them to us economically is far more productive than starting a war. We still need to cautiously protect ourselves legally on the intellectual property front, reinforce our cyber-security and be militarily ready.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
If we get out of their business, we give them a chance to get out of ours. Or else we continue to inspire new terrorist for another couple of decades. Take a similar approach to China here, by building relationships through diplomacy and economic opportunities that benefit each country.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Agree
We should build “Ellis Island” style facilities at the border. This will provide people seeking a better life a “Destination”. At this entry a health & background check can be completed. Then a Visa/green card may be issued. This creates two benefits, immigrants will have a legal starting point, and our border agents can focus their efforts on the border. We could lease the extra office space to job recruitment agencies to offset the costs for the facility.
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Choose not to answer
The two old parties using these issues to demonstrate power over the other is very petty. When are we going to let people truly be free?
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Any peaceful people.
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Choose not to answer
We shouldn’t have any protected class but the individual.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Choose not to answer
This is why we need school choice, parents should be making decisions about the education their children receive and from whom and where. Public school, private, secular, charter or homeschool.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Jesus, son of god, introduced me to the higher power. Through my actions, I hope to enter heaven.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Neutral
Just be able to prove who you are. Some form of Identification or Voter ID card with a current bill that matches. I really don’t see this as an issue. .I have voted just by showing my voter ID card…
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
We need Ranked Choice Voting. The ballot access laws are ridiculous here in Texas for convention parties. One of the old parties is currently trying to sue us (Libertarians) off the ballot. They are so scared you may actually vote for us that they won't even face us on the ballot. Much less a Debate! I believe many voters want a third major party, and they can have it, If they Vote for us! I'm on the ballot now, which means you can elect me NOW! (Nov. 8th actually!)
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Disagree
I’m sorry, it is to late to consider reparations for the past scars left by slavery. However, I would like to see a change in our Criminal Justice systems that attempts to make victims whole, going forward. By forcing criminals to reimburse and /or pay for therapy and formally apologize for their trespasses against their victims. This does two things, it helps bring closure for the victims and helps to rehabilitate the criminal, as they are faced with making right their wrongs.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
The best thing we can do with racist is use our freedom of dissociation, by that I mean dissociate from business dealings, friendships, and call them out for being in the minority of thought. That they are choosing a path that will leave them in the past, huddled in the corner and frightened by the thought the rest of us are pursuing our happiness with people of all colors.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Agree
I also support a competitive energy market, which means we need to stop subsidizing one energy provider over another and allow consumers to choose the energy source that best fits their needs, values and budgets. I would like to see us use energy sources that don't produce excess CO2. Like Nuclear, Solar, Wind, geothermal, hydroelectric and plant based biofuels and biodiesel like renewable Hemp.
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A. We need to hold the polluters accountable and make them clean up, reimburse and repair the damages they cause. We should have government Standards of clean not regulations that prevent competition and innovations.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Choose not to answer
I'm a Libertarian, those terms above describe varying degrees of the two old parties labels. On economic issues I'm a free market capitalist. On social issues I'm more liberal than many democrats. As for foreign policy, I wish we would be like Thomas Jefferson and Sweden and return to a policy of non interventionism. yes... I want you to be able to practice your religion in peace here in America.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
I wish the Media would interview me. I’m Libertarian and they never cover our Conventions. Policy Positions or our Candidates… It's all grassroots.(You can help by putting pressure on them to cover our party) Plenty of people on the Libertarian side of Texas know who I am, and how hard I work to win these campaigns. I want to hold both parties accountable for the promises they broke to you! Whether you're a Democrat or Republican you can get what they promised you by voting for me!
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
NO
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I want to help voters hold both parties accountable. Republicans promised to cut spending but in 2017 they passed the “Largest Spending bill in US history” (at that time). Democrats promised Criminal Justice Reforms but those bills never left the US House. Send a Libertarian to arbitrate the divide and we can cut spending like Republicans promised, using the Federal Sunset Act as our tool and get the criminal justice reforms the democrats promised you. Like De-scheduling and decriminalizing cannabis, ending qualified immunity, ending no knock raids and Civil asset forfeiture. Electing a Libertarian sends a message to both of the old parties that you have had enough.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Disagree
No one is above the law. I do think that police could do themselves a favor by not enforcing laws where there is no victim. Focus their efforts on crimes like theft, fraud, assault, rapes and murders. End the war on drugs and adopt the Portugal model for dealing with addiction.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Agree
Mental health in this country is one of our biggest issues. We don't have enough facilities, doctors, and psychologist, to meet the needs our society has. We need to remove the stigma of seeking mental health help and understand that therapy is a good thing!
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Require a two week training when you buy a gun. First week maintenance and safety. Second week range school, with a professional instructor.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Disagree
Sue the person who harmed you. not the retailer of the tool they used. If they used a shovel are you suing Lowes or Home depot?
