OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

If the pregnancy is threatening the mother's life, at her discretion, in consultation with her physician.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

I can't "guarantee" anything but there are many viable solutions for keeping the Social Security system solvent and I would explore all the possibilities to ensure the promises of Social Security are kept.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

The military industrial complex is completely out of control. We spend more money on defense than the next 11 countries in the WORLD combined. We have the strongest, most disciplined, and best equipped military on the planet and we can easily maintain our military superiority at a much lower cost by eliminating fraud, waste, abuse and outright corruption in our procurement processes. There are many other programs that should be reviewed for their value as well.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

Under limited circumstances where students have been the victim of predatory student loans and then defrauded by bogus educational institution that go bankrupt leaving students with worthless degrees or no degree at all.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise there of". While it is totally appropriate for members of the "State" to make decisions based on their religious values, there can not be an "official Religion" and the "Church" should remain completely separate from the "government".

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

We need to eliminate healthcare profiteering. Perhaps by reforming corporate governance laws as they pertain to health care administration. Until the 1970s healthcare was a not for profit operation. Healthcare is not a commodity that can be bid on. You can't get 3 estimates for an emergency appendectomy or heart cath. Healthcare workers should be some of the highest paid professionals in our society but healthcare administration should be non-profit. The insurance industry has become a protection money racket and the pharmaceutical industry has all but taken control of the legislative process as it pertains to regulating their industry. The result is that we have the highest drug prices in the world, the highest health care administrative costs, and below average health care outcomes of other industrialized nations.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Work a little harder at loving our enemies and understanding the root causes of terrorism.

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

We need to develop a more merit based system for immigration. Fluency in English should be mandatory. We MUST control our borders and insure all immigration is done in accordance with our laws.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I'm a baptized and confirmed Episcopalian but I'm really more of a non-denominational follow of Jesus Christ. I believe deeply in His teachings and use them as the guiding principle for all my actions in life.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

There is no publicly available information that either validates or invalidates my answers.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

Absolutely NOT!

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

My son calls me an angry old boy scout but I believe strongly that personal and intellectual integrity matters, a LOT. I believe in data based analysis and analysis based decision making. I'm a conservative who believes in moral order, personal and fiscal responsibility, and making the Federal Government as small as possible. I don't believe in vilifying and berating people I disagree with but instead prefer to engage with them and determine the things we have in common so we can find the necessary solutions to the 21st century problems that confront us all as a nation, a society and a culture.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Gun ownership is a Constitutional Right granted by the Second Amendment. Law abiding citizens without mental disorder or criminal conviction shouldn't have any restrictions on gun ownership. But "Red Flag" laws are NOT the solution for determining who has a "mental disorder"

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Neutral

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Infrastructure Criminal Justice reform Privacy protection

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. While there certainly are racial tensions in some urban areas, getting along is in most people best interest, regardless of your race or ethnicity.
