OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Every American was endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights--life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. An abortion is the denial of life to an unborn American citizen. As such, I believe abortion must be restricted as much as possible. In such extenuating circumstances were the mother was the victim of rape or incest, I still believe in protecting the life of the unborn child who played no part in their own creation. However, the DNA of the child should be used to track down the perpetrator, and the United States must prosecute the offender to the fullest extent of the law. And since the mother was a victim in this situation, and if they so choose, then the child that was created with the offender must be offered up for adoption. Up to 5 million families in the United States are waiting to adopt a child, I say we give them a chance to raise this child the mother did not want.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

I believe Social Security needs major reform. Social Security's messaging that it is a bank account is a lie that has been repeated for far too long. I would let everyone age 45 and over stay in the current Social Security System, no changes. Everyone person younger than 45 would be moved to a capitalization retirement program that takes the money they are sending to Social Security to a 401-K or insurance type account, and how much money you retire on is based entirely on your own efforts and contributions. Citizens would decide the percentage of their paycheck to contribute, and how much money that is in your retirement account would now truly be how much you contributed over your working life plus interest. I would replace Social Security with this new capitalization retirement program, and get Americans' money out of the hands of greedy and mismanaging politicians.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Reforming Social Security as I explained before, privatizing Medicare while ensuring its benefits to the recipients, and devolving education spending back to the states would fully balance the budget.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

Taxpayers should not pay off existing student loans. I took out student loans for my college degree, and I was able to pay them off with hard work. I think taxpayers should not be saddled with paying off loans other people chose to take on. However, I believe the federal government should get out of the business of student loans and stop indebting a whole new generation of Americans.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The "separation of church and state" means to me what it meant to Thomas Jefferson when he wrote that phrase to the Danbury Baptist Association. Personal religious convictions do belong in the political sphere, but the state should not regulate what you believe, what religions are allowed, and what denominations can openly practice. If you are peaceful, and you mean no harm to other Americans, you can practice what you like and believe what you want. Your personal convictions are your own, the state should not determine them.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I believe we must codify Trump's executive order that makes healthcare providers publicly publish their price list of medical services. Once everyone can easily access the prices of local care providers, we will make smarter decision on which doctor to do business with. Through the natural process of competition, prices will go down and healthcare will become much more affordable to the vast American public.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

I think what we are currently doing to secure the country is enough. We are the largest military power on Earth, and that has been enough to prevent another 9/11 so far. I suggest we do not get entangled in any more foreign wars, and we continue to develop our technology to warn us of any threats. We must focus on the homeland, and stay one step ahead of the terrorists.

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

I believe in a merit based immigrating system. Immigrants skilled in high skilled trades or vocational trades, such as doctors, should be preferred in our immigration system. All immigrants must be monitored to ensure they are not sending more than 15% of their total yearly income back to their country of origin so American dollars stay in America. We must end chain-migration. America is a nation founded on the backs of immigrants, and we must make sure that the most high quality people are coming to make our nation even better.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a born-again Evangelical Christian. I believe Jesus Christ is the savior of the world, and that he is the only way to the paradise called Heaven. I believe in treating people the content of their character, and giving everyone an opportunity to prove who they really are through their actions.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I am a public member of the Republican Party, and an associate member of the Federated Republican Women. I have fought for the free speech rights of everyone (especially conservatives) on my college campus, and the local newspaper covered my charge for freedom against liberal censoring. Overall, I'd suggest reaching out to me, following my social media, or talking to one of my friends who will tell you I preach what I practice, and practice what I preach.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

I have never been convicted of a felony and I have never been penalized for sexual misconduct.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

The 3 pillars of my campaign are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. We must 1) protect life at conception, 2) protect our 2nd Amendment rights, and 3) Cut Out the Corruption that is holding back our government and our economy. I believe the best disinfectant is sunlight, and all governing must be done in full view of the public. I am pro-Israel, pro-life, pro-liberty, and pro-America. I fully support President Trump and we, the Congress, must give him the tools for him to do his job right. I hope I can earn your vote for US Congress. I was born here in East TN and I hope to take a little TN with me to represent our best values in Congress. Please vote for me for US Congress. Cordially, Chance Cansler

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The 2nd Amendment is one of the bedrocks of American citizenship. I believe in sponsoring a federal bill requiring all states to recognized the concealed carry permits of every other state, as per President Trump's 2016 campaign pledge. Public demonstration of gun ownership such as the April 30, 2020 demonstration in Lansing, MI, and the January 20, 2020 demonstration in Richmond, VA show that gun owners demonstrate peacefully and civilly. Lawmakers were scared, but nothing violent happened.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Disagree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1) Anti-Corruption bills, 2) 2nd Amendment legislation, 3) Pro-life bills and constitutional amendments. Ten of the Twenty richest US counties are suburbs of Washington, DC. Money is being stolen from the American people, and being redistributed to the elites in and around Washington, DC. Washington does not provide a service sector or a manufacturing sector that can justify the mind-boggling amount of wealth they are accumulating, it can only be corruption and graft. The first bills I would propose would be a full audit of the Executive branch bureaucracies and the origin of family wealth of political families (given that actual politician usually hide their wealth among close friends and family members).

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No, racism is not a threat to domestic security of the US. However, as seen in the George Floyd incident, even though the police officers who murdered George Floyd are being criminally charged with his death, it is not enough to just proceed with justice in America. Black Lives Matter, far removed from the noble sentiment of their name, are a domestic terror organization on the same level of Antifa, the Taliban, Hezbollah, Hamas, and Al Qaeda. I believe in looking past skin color, and punishing the guilty and exonerating the innocent. When a crime is committed, even if the perpetrator is a law enforcement official like a police officer or sheriff, the judges must enforce the law equally to them as well. We all must be under the same law.
