QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

No Answer

iVoterGuide Notes:

Candidate notified iVoterGuide that his intended answer to this question should have been "Strongly Agree"

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I firmly believe that God is the Author of life and that life begins at conception. Once that life is conceived, it should have the same protections under the law that any human being does.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I would recommend auditing all agencies to determine if there are any abuses or fraud taking place. I firmly believe it it is possible, it is probable. Transparency and Accountability are the two pillars of a healthy society and government.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It means the government should stay out of the church, not vice versa. Our country was founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs and values and as our second President John Adams said "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." Christian people MUST be involved in government!

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I recommend less government involvement rather than more which has been the case for the last 6-8 years. Rather than improving healthcare, they have made it more costly, more restrictive, and less beneficial. I am a self-employed businessman and had self/family health insurance that increased over 300% over 3 years once the Affordable Care Act was put in place. I have since been a part of a healthcare-sharing ministry that benefits others when not the funds are not used by me personally. I am a self-employed business man and have always been responsible for myself. I have annual checkups and exercise regularly. We need to encourage personal responsibility, and less government involvement.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Those that are willing to enter the country legally and abide by the laws established in the U.S.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a man of Faith in Jesus Christ. I believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit and that they are One God. I believe in the virgin birth of God the Son and that he lived a sinless life, died on the cross, and rose again to cover my sin and provide me with forgiveness and salvation through Him alone! "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6 I believe the Holy Bible, in that it is the only, the infallible, and the inerrant Word of God. I believe that I am saved by Grace through Faith and that alone! I certainly am not perfect, but my goal is to be more like Christ each day than I was the day before. I believe I have one responsibility in life and that is to honor God with my life in such a way that it draws others to Him.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I believe that anyone who knows me would vouch for that including my family, my friends, my business associates/clients, my pastor, and anyone else that has spent any time with me.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

As I see it, government is supposed to be "Of the people, By the People, and For the People." I am part of the people. I have never held a public office. I am not a politician. I'm a CPA who also happens to be a husband, a son, a father, a grandfather and I believe my 30+ years of experience in helping businesses of all shapes, sizes, and types enables me to understand the needs of the communities that comprise this district. I also believe that where fraud and abuse can occur, it will occur. I advocate transparency and oversight to protect the individuals that make up this great state of Oklahoma. I have no intention of leaving this district as I am the third generation to live here, and I have two generations behind me that have established this as home.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am a truly blessed man. God has blessed me with a family that is second to none. My father and mother were blessings in that they taught me the values I hold dear. My wife and kids (and grandkids) are reminders of how good God is. I have a business that has been built with the assistance of so many good people. With all this blessing, how do I not serve in whatever place the Lord calls me to. I will give 100% effort to serve where I am needed. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I believe strongly in the Second Amendment that guarantees us the right to purchase, own, and bear arms. I do not believe restrictions are needed that prevent law-abiding citizens from exercising those rights.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Rural Development. I realize you asked for three, but I intend to protect legislation related to these three items as well. Pro-life, Pro-Business, Pro-2nd Amendment. Oklahoma is a state with considerable protections in the are of Pro-Life and Second Amendment causes, however, we must be diligent to guard that going forward.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I believe Scripture teaches that racism is wrong. I do believe racism continues to be a problem in some areas. We recently saw in the news where a man was killed by two other men strictly because of his race. That should never be tolerated or excused. We have made great strides since the mid 1900's but there is still work to be done.
