QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
If the mother's life is in danger, then triage is a must. Example is ectopical pregnancy and no other option would save the life of both mother and baby. Abortion needs to be eliminated. This is more than a christian view, but social media has exposed the sale of baby parts by Planned Parenthood. Oklahoman's have become aware of this monstrosity.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Transparency is needed in every area. There is still wasteful spending in education as I have seen throughout my 30 years. As stated above, the church and private sector can replace state services. We are in severe crisis and everyone will need to cinch up the belt.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
This country was built on a religious foundation. Our forefathers recognized that the state must respect the basic freedom of religion. But the question becomes does the religion respect the state? In my heart, we are responsible for helping those in need: widows and orphans, those who are poor, hungry and in need of thirst. The church, not the state, should be tending to these needs among the flock. Less welfare and food stamp programs. Likewise I question, are churches required to file any tax information since the members are contributing to a charity organization? Do the fund raising opportunities of the members still fall under non profit? Private christian schools should get equal allowance per student as a child attending a public school. Low socioeconomic status should not be discriminated against. Prayer needs to be back in school, and at sporting events. Students and teachers should be allowed to have bible study, although not required
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I had to drop Healthchoice insurance once I retired from teaching. I carried it for 2 years, but it had a huge jump in coverage cost and deductible. After some research, I chose to use Samaritan Ministries. A christian group that work together to help meet the medical needs of each other.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Those who are wanting and willing to work to build an honest life, learning our language and respecting our laws. I would like to think the individual is of good moral character and a clean past. We should enforce the laws currently.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I proudly believe in God's word, the Bible. Proverbs 31 is a chapter I pride myself in trying to attain. As a mother, I have raised my children with good christian morals and values. Galatians 6:10 is one of my favorite verses. "Do good as you have opportunity."
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I believe in less government. Individuals have the right to decide for their families what is best for them. Choices regarding their food supply, healthcare and educational decisions. In reference to immigration, come to our country legally, learn English and our rules. For those illegal, build the wall! As a teacher, the number of illegal students attending school getting free lunches, medical care, clothing and educational supplies is very frustrating when I see low income parents struggling to purchase school supplies for their children.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I am a proud US citizen. 30 years as a teacher in Oklahoma with a masters degree Decades in agriculture, raising cattle and farming Involved in farmer's markets and supplying beef for health food stores and the farmer's markets. Mother to 5 successful children.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
More than five generations of my family have lived on the north end of Seminole county. I married my high school sweetheart and we were together for 34 years before his passing in 2013. We have 5 successful children. While raising children and working, I attained my BS degree in Elementary Education and MS degree in Elementary Education with a math specialization. I have taught in Okemah, Butner and Shawnee Public Schools. I taught GED classes for 5 years and was a math tutor for Epic last year. I run a cow/calf operation and raise watermelons for the Farm to School program and also for farmer's market. My husband ran for office in 2002 and 2004, during this time our hearts were touched because a statement was made about senior citizens having to choose between food and medicine. So I grew a garden and donated over a ton of vegetables to several senior centers during those years and continued with watermelons in the years following. I offer you my work ethic for your vote.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I think the current regulations are sufficient. I do not support more restrictions.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
1. Incentive to build livestock processing plants to relieve the food supply issue currently facing our state. Alternative meat supply direct from rancher to consumer. 2. School choice - Let parent's decide what educational means best suit their families including a tax credit to all incomes, not just low income. 3. Sexting violations - Young teens are not aware of the consequences of sending pornographic pictures to their friends over social media, texting, or the internet. Currently, if the court is involved then there is the possibility the child will have to list as a sex offender for the rest of their life. This needs to be modified to a set term of counseling and expunged on their 18th birthday, on the condition of not having subsequent violations.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Yes, We are Americans, but we are being split in regards to religion, political, gang issues, healthcare, and socioeconomic status. It's a sad state when children state learned expressions. This is a generational issue. It is sad to note that homegrown terrorists walk among us.
