QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
In a perfect world, never. Since we are not in a perfect world I would support all efforts for requiring sonograms and material showing options for women, support laws against trimester abortion and the Heartbeat laws. Wil work to minimize abortions as best we can and to take away ALL public funding of abortions
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Eliminate redundant programs (like the "Grace Commission" under Reagan) like the Dept. of Education (a payback for teachers union under Carter), remove duplicative social programs (A woman with 8 or more kids can make more than 100,000 a year of our money) Reduce regulatory organizations that harm our economy. I would look at waste (even in the military) at all levels as well as redundancy. I would protect our rights in Colorado given under the TABOR amendment.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
That means the government may not infringe the rights of people to worship (excluding some practices like polygamy, honor killings, etc.) according to their own conscience. We have freedom of religion not freedom from religion. Our government is going the way of most of the world and are trying to restrict subjects being spoken at the pulpit, calling those subject to be hate speech. It is also restricting even the simplest right of having a Bible in public schools and especially reading it. One teacher recently forced a child to wash out the ashes on their forehead because it was a religious ceremony. Kids aren't allowed to wear shirts with Christian logos of Jesus' name in school but Che Guevera is ok. I would work to stop this kind of abuse in public places and schools. This is an unalienable right guaranteed in our Constitution.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
There are several innovative ideas already out there. Medishare is one and there I another that Sean Hannity promotes on his radio show. I would push to steer away from "one size fits all" that are being promoted by the socialist left and work to increase choice for patients (some areas only have one option) that can be tailored towards the individual's needs (patient centered). I would work towards eliminating governmental programs forcing to carry gender fluidity and reassignment and abortion. Let those who chose to do such pay for it out of their own pockets and not be subsidized by us. I would work to get the government to relax overburdening regulations that just increase cost of medicine and restrict government intrusion on our rights for choice in coverage, like we have for life insurance, car insurance and home insurance (rent insurance)
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
As an immigrant (born in Italy, adopted by American parents) and having both grandparents on both sides who were also immigrants who came legally, I believe in a properly regulated immigration system. No country can exist without borders, especially when illegals are automatically given health care, food stamps, etc. This will bankrupt our country and destroy it's hegemony causing it to disintegrate from within (AS Lincoln warned us). People should be allowed in because they want to become a part of our values and blessings and not try to subvert us from within (as Talib is trying to do). The constitution gives authority over immigration to the president and is not to be superseded by states, cities and counties which declare themselves as sanctuary places for illegals. The president can also determine specific groups to be excluded because they would be a threat to our nations. I abhor what was done under Obama who excluded consideration for persecuted Christians from Muslim countries
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Raised Catholic and taught in a Catholic school (good education). Was Saved in 1982 so I use Biblical and constitutional principles with limited government to guide my political thought. Raised in a Catholic home helped me to leave the Democrat party over abortion in about 1972.(My family was 1st generation Americans, both grandparents on both sides were legal immigrants and were staunch Democrats. My conscience wouldn't allow me to continue in a party that has so little respect for the most innocent of us. I believe as a principle we should do all (public positions, work, etc.) as unto the Lord. I pray for our leaders as commanded in the Bible. I believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God and is the arbiter of moral values. I believe we have been given a REPUBLIC that can only succeed under a moral people as our founders warned us. We are in the political situation we are in because the people who want to rule over us believe they are the arbiters of what is moral.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
You can see my platform on www.TonyCforHD32.com, I have openly and financially support The Heritage Foundation, The Centennial Institute and Hillsdale College. I have been a member and participant in several Tea Party groups. I support individual candidates who are Tea Party candidates rather than the national Republican committee organizations. I have been very involved in Reagan dinners, Lincoln dinners. I am friends with Jayne and Jim Schindler and worked on projects for pro life activities.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
Being an immigrant myself who has had the blessing of a good religious (Catholic) education, have worked in the private sector and owned 2 small businesses as well as worked as a postman for twenty years, I believe that I have experienced "both sides now" and better able to do a better job than many others. Because of my belief that we have been blessed with founding fathers who gave us a "Republic" which can only work under a moral people, I believe I can make sensible decisions. Because of my belief in Limited government and refuse to accept a nanny state which tries to control our lives and limit our freedoms, I know I will study bills being proposed to see what unintended consequences will occur under such legislation. Because I have taught to think critically (test) I will be able to discern the good and the bad in a bill. I will stand on the side of freedom every chance I get and promote the freedom of expression necessary for good government.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
never!
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I believe that we can do best for ourselves and loved ones without the overreaching of big government and excessive taxation. I believe in the ideals and morals of our founding fathers. I hope to restrict excessive regulation and the overabundance of laws. I would love for each session of the legislature spend the first half of a year taking out unnecessary regulations and intrusive and unneeded laws before they tackle new legislation. All legislation should be examined to determine any unintended consequences. I would like to see that laws are pertinent, non intrusive and necessary before being passed. ( a classic example is the non use of bear traps placed in Colorado's Constitution. Why should such a law even be included in a constitution)
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The right to bear arms is necessary for maintaining our freedoms which can be trampled easily by an out of control government. The only possible restrictions (other than weapons of mass destruction and biological weapons) are in cases of mental instability and persons with previous records of violence (rape, murder, assault). Even then restrictions when it comes to a government who likes to redefine everything, should be carefully weighed as to constitutional rights.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Agree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Strongly Agree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
1) Individual freedom, especially in the area of free speech and religious expression. I would work to restrict the passing and enforcement of what are now called "Hate speech" where differing from the politically correct "woke" crowd is considered hate speech. Freedom for religious organizations and individuals to follow their own spiritual beliefs without recourse. 2) Parental rights from being abridged by governmental abuse; the right for parents to chose religious, private, charter and home schooling. I also will fight for the rights of parents to have their kids opted out of sexual classes that are contrary to their moral beliefs. 3) Fight to protect our rights (given by our Creator according the Declaration of Independence) to bear arms to protect ourselves and loved ones, our property and governmental abuse.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I do not believe in races. We are all descendants from 1 father and mother which has been proven by the gnome project of 2000 (which lasted about 13 years). The left uses supposed racism to include normal conservation, thought, etc.to divide America. We are blessed with a country that gives everyone the chance to be the best they can be limited only by their own character. Racism becomes an easy way to provide excuse for those who aren't willing to make it on their own. It is also important that the overuse (and redefining) of racism is used to prevent us from thinking critically about events happening in the world. By calling people Islamophobic prevents us from even suggesting that because the greatest number of terrorist who use explosions are young men from a particular religious belief system, we shouldn't profile them and instead grannies in a wheel chair. It makes us less secure because of the use of terminology describing the actual culprit is "hate speech".
