QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

It is hard for me to make decisions for women as I am a man. Put in a position deciding what is best for another individual, is difficult. I do believe that if the women's health or life is in danger and she chooses to have an abortion, this would be one acceptable reason.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Looking at our priorities, what processes could we improve, "tighten our belt" before we cut. Can we improve how we do our jobs, projects, and utilization of resources. I believe cuts should be the last process in the chain of events and budgeting.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

At this time, I do not believe "separation of church and state" exists as it did for our forefathers. In modern times, churches discuss and become involved in many state and ethical issues.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Healthcare in rural areas is limited. Expanding Sooner Care and promoting utilization of the program, can increase healthcare coverage.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Agree

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

My mother is an immigrant, and has contributed her whole Adult life while in the United States. She came from Scotland and brought the great values her mom and dad instilled in her to the U. S. Most Immigrants come here for a better life for themselves and their families. I believe that if the immigration process was more timely, this could decrease the illegal entrance rates. Many immigrants come to the U. S. with work visas, this is an excellent way for them to come and contribute to our communities.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Neutral

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian. I attend the First Baptist Church in Altus Ok. I have been active in church for many years. I believe in God and family, and my beliefs help me in my everyday life.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Serving as a City Councilmen in Altus OK, many of my votes and points would demonstrate my Conservative view.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have been active in my community for 40 years. I feel this has given me the experience and education to fulfill the role as District 52, State Representative. My experience has been working and managing our family restaurant for 39 years and owning it for 35 years. I have been active on numerous committees and worked towards improving and benefiting our community. I was the Co-Chair of Imagination Station Playground. It was an all volunteer build, I personally raised over $200,000.00 in funding. I was asked by our Mayor to be a member of the Planning Board for several years, where we make decisions on property and builds in our community. I won a seat on our city council, and completed a term of 4 years. During that time, we experienced an Ice storm that closed our city for a week, working together, our city managed to get our electricity on much sooner than expected.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I have been active in my community for over 40 years. Past and Present City Councilmen Freeholder Planning Board Board of Adjustments Chamber of Commerce President of Rotary Co-Chairmen of Imagination Station Playground build E911 Board President of ACMI House (women's shelter) Area Metropolitan Planning Commission Western Trials Historical Society Military Affairs Committee (liaison committee between city and Air Force base)

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

No Answer

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

There are many laws and opinions on gun ownership. Safety is the number one priority. I believe in our second amendment, but also that there must be some guidance. Anyone with a felony or convicted of a violent crime should be thoroughly reviewed and possibly restricted. Each case can have many circumstances and points that could lead to different outcomes.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Neutral

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Education Rural Health Care Infrastructure in our rural district.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

It can, if inflamed or not addressed in a timely manner. Anything that creates conflict or discord in any group of people, can grow to become a threat to security in any community.
