QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

If Roe v. Wade is overturned, I support Utah's law (SB 174) that only allows for abortion under certain circumstances. I am also committed to ensuring that expecting women have the resources and support they need to bring new life into the world.

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Strongly Disagree

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

The single most important thing we can do is to simplify our tax code. Our tax code has become so full of loopholes, complexities, and redundancies that it no longer serves our best interests. Coupled with lowering our taxes, a simplified tax code will help unleash the American economy.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

The Constitution should be our guide. Government should neither favor nor discriminate against religion. We must protect our ability to worship according to the dictates of our own conscience.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

I've chosen to be vaccinated and vaccinate my children based on the recommendations of my healthcare provider and in compliance with the requirements of Utah public schools. I support a parent's right to claim exemption to these immunization requirements for medical, religious or personal reasons.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

(C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

The United States Armed Forces is the greatest fighting force the world has ever seen. We must invest in our military to keep Americans safe. We should also work with our allies to combat the poison that is Islamic radicalization to prevent the threats posed by terrorism in the first place. I am working hard on the House Armed Services Committee to ensure our military has the tools and authorities it needs to keep Americans and our partners safe, including by preventing any DOD assistance for the Taliban in Afghanistan.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Legal immigration is the only way that people should enter our nation. As we enhance border security, we can also look at streamlining the immigration system more broadly. Immigrants play an important role in our society and economy, and we can welcome and encourage lawful entry into our nation for those who seek to contribute to this great nation without harming the American workforce.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Disagree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I am committed to compassion for the most vulnerable members of our society.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

There is much the nation can learn from the way Utah administers its elections. In addition to sharing these best practices with my colleagues in Washington, I have opposed and worked to defeat proposals to federalize our elections and take power from the states. We must keep power in the hands of the people.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Rather than creating new government programs to address racism, we should be rebuilding our society in a way that rejects prejudice in all its forms. Government efforts created in the name of domestic security will be ineffectual.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

Blake Moore is Successfully Navigating a Partisan Environment to Achieve Results for Utahns 1) As the House Republican freshman with the highest statistical legislative success rate, Congressman Blake Moore was proud to see his Medal of Honor Monument Act signed into law to honor our nation's heroes and tell their stories to inspire future generations of Americans. 2) Blake Moore delivered for Hill Air Force Base by passing into law their biggest priorities, including bringing 4,000 new jobs and six new buildings to Hill Air Force Base for our nuclear program; improving hiring of veterans; modernizing our depots; and allowing the Davis County community to assist with base infrastructure. 3) Blake Moore created a Debt & Deficit Task Force in Ogden with local stakeholders and business leaders to shine a light on out-of-control spending and harness northern Utah's expertise to create solutions that will target spending, reverse the trajectory of our addiction to spending, and put America back on the right track. 4) Blake Moore's MAPLand Act passed the House and Senate and will digitize federal land access records to allow hunters, bikers, hikers, and other land users to access public lands and open up access points to the public. Americans deserve to enjoy our public lands, and implementing principles of good governance into this management process will save money and time for land users and managers alike. 5) Blake Moore delivered on community project programming and infrastructure through close collaboration with northern Utah officials, leading Congress to secure millions in unprecedented funding for northern Utah. The projects that received funding will support our state's growing transit needs, invest in crucial workforce development programs, support foster care students in higher education, enhance Utah's role as a hub for national security studies, expand infrastructure at Hill Air Force Base, and more. 6) Blake Moore is leading the charge against China. In an exceptional move for a freshman legislator, House Leadership chose Blake to serve alongside committee chairs and ranking members as a conferee on the House-Senate conference committee to counter China and maintain America's competitive edge in science and technology. This builds on Blake's work on Leader McCarthy's task force to hold Biden accountable for the Afghanistan withdrawal and protect U.S. national security. Blake Moore is Holding the Biden Administration Accountable 1) Congressman Blake Moore is fighting against Biden's $3.5 trillion tax-and-spend agenda and socialist efforts to kill jobs, lower wages, harm businesses, export jobs, and create massive new entitlement programs all while our current social programs rapidly approach fiscal cliffs. He opposed Biden's "Build Back Better", COVID-19 agenda, the highest tax rates in the developed world, and harmful spending bills that would erase American competitiveness. 2) Blake Moore is fighting back against inflation and high prices by leading congressional forums on Biden-induced inflation and gas prices and voting to end subsidies that keep Americans out of the workforce, instruct committees to combat runaway inflation, and overturn regulations. 3) Blake Moore fought back early and often against Biden's undemocratic vaccine mandates and COVID-19 policies. From encouraging the Supreme Court to overturn the private employer mandate, to passing legislation that would prohibit DOD from dishonorably discharging service members who refuse the vaccine, to fighting against masking young children and mask requirements on public transportation, to forcing federal agencies to consider the effects of natural immunity, Blake moved the needle to defend our basic rights in a hostile environment. 4) Blake Moore chairs the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee of the House Natural Resources Committee, leading House Republican efforts to end the Biden energy ban and lower dependence on foreign oil and gas. His legislation would rebuild American energy production, require the timely issuance of permits to drill, and lower skyrocketing gas prices so that fewer Utahns suffer from President Biden's executive overreach. 5) Americans deserve to know what went wrong in Biden's disastrous handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal. Blake Moore introduced the Afghanistan Accountability Act to immediately identify the breakdown between Biden, the DOD, and the intelligence community that facilitated this crisis. The bill was incorporated into the National Defense Authorization Act, along with provisions to prohibit the DOD from providing any financial support to the Taliban, require plans to rescue Americans still in Afghanistan, and identify and recover U.S. military equipment left behind. CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Rather than restricting a lawful citizen’s ability to own a gun, we should be focusing on the symptom of the problem rather than the manifestation of the problem. Our society is broken, and the ties that bind us are weak. We must work to strengthen the family unit, emphasize the importance of civil society, help those who are unwell access the mental health resources they need, and push against violent influences in our lives. The time to help someone is long before they make plans for violence.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
